6. High Temperature Corrosion in Fluidised Bed Environment
Abstract : Successful material selection for power plants is the result of understanding the environment in each boiler. The boiler environment is affected by fuel chemistry, co-firing, process control and deposits as well as boiler type, design, size and load. READ MORE

7. Intestinal permeability : a parameter of mucosal dysfunction
Abstract : The gastrointestinal tract has two opposing functions; to absorb nutrients and electrolytes, and to act as a barrier towards hazardous and non-nutritional substances. In the present thesis the barrier function of the gastrointestinal tract was studied in animal models in vivo, in situ and in vitro. READ MORE

8. Genetic changes in lymphoid leukemia
Abstract : It is today generally accepted that the vast majority of malignant tumors arise as a result of genetic changes in critical genes involved in the tightly regulated control of cell growth and cell death. Despite the remarkable progress in the identification of such genes during the past two decades, many cancer genes probably remain to be identified. READ MORE

9. Epidemiological aspects on hairy cell leukaemia
Abstract : Non Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) has an increasing incidence in many Western countries. In Sweden, about 1800 new cases were reported to the Cancer Registry in 1996 including cases of chronic lymphatic leukaemia (CLL). Hairy cell leukaemia (HCL) is a rare subgroup of malignant lymphoma. About 25 new cases are diagnosed among males in Sweden yearly. READ MORE

10. Nanostructured carbon materials prepared by hole-mask colloidal lithography
Abstract : Research and development of nanofabrication methods can be motivated both formanufacturing of commercially available products like micro electronic componentsand for development of model systems for fundamental and applied science. Thefabrication process developed during this work, hole-mask colloidal lithography(HCL), is primarily oriented towards the latter two, specifically for research in thefields of catalysis, nanoparticle plasmons, and bio- and fundamental physics.
