6. Purification, Stereoisomeric Analysis and Quantification of Biologically Active Compounds in Extracts from Pine Sawflies, African Butterflies and Orchid Bees
Abstract : Stereochemistry plays an important role in nature because biologically important molecules such as amino acids, nucleotides and sugars, only exist in enantiomerically pure forms. Semiochemicals carry messages, between the same species (pheromones) and between different species (allelochemicals). READ MORE

7. Conformal chemical vapor deposition of boron carbide thin films
Abstract : The sustainability goals of the modern world and the fascinating properties of sub-micron scale materials promote development of materials in thin film form. Thin films are materials that have thicknesses ranging from sub-nanometer to several micrometers, synthesized by various deposition techniques. READ MORE

8. Chemical Vapour Deposition of sp2 Hybridised Boron Nitride
Abstract : The aim of this work was to develop a chemical vapour deposition process and understand the growth of sp2 hybridised Boron Nitride (sp2-BN). Thus, the growth on different substrates together with the variation of growth parameters was investigated in details and is presented in the papers included in this thesis. READ MORE

9. Multifunctional nanostructured Ti-Si-C thin films
Abstract : In this Thesis, I have investigated multifunctional nanostructured Ti-Si-C thin films synthesized by magnetron sputtering in the substrate-temperature range from room temperature to 900 °C. The studies cover high-temperature growth of Ti3SiC2 and Ti4SiC3, low-temperature growth of Ti-Si-C nanocomposites, and Ti-Si-C-based multi¬layers, as well as their electrical, mechanical, and thermal-stability properties.
