  1. 6. Event-Driven Architectures for Heterogeneous Neuromorphic Computing Systems

    Author : Mattias Nilsson; Fredrik Sandin; Foteini Liwicki; Jerker Delsing; Chiara Bartolozzi; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Neuromorphic computing; Mixed-signal; Low-power; Non-von Neumann; Spatiotemporal pattern recognition; System integration; Cyber-Physical Systems; Cyberfysiska system;

    Abstract : Mixed-signal neuromorphic processors have brain-like organization and device physics optimized for emulation of spiking neural networks (SNNs), and offer an energy-efficient alternative for implementing artificial intelligence in applications where deep learning based on conventional digital computing is unfeasible or unsustainable. However, efficient use of such hardware requires appropriate configuration of its inhomogeneous, analog neurosynaptic circuits, with methods for sparse, spike-timing-based information encoding and processing. 2. 7. Leveraging Intermediate Representations for High-Performance Portable Discrete Fourier Transform Frameworks : with Application to Molecular Dynamics

    Author : Måns Andersson; Stefano Markidis; Artur Podobas; Niclas Jansson; Ivy Bo Peng; Hartwig Anzt; KTH; []
    Keywords : Intermediate Representation; Discrete Fourier Transform; Fast Fourier Transform; Molecular Dynamics; Mellankod; diskret Fouriertransform; snabb Fouriertransform; Molekyldynamik;

    Abstract : The Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) and its improved formulations, the Fast Fourier Transforms (FFTs), are vital for scientists and engineers in a range of domains from signal processing to the solution of partial differential equations.  A growing trend in Scientific Computing is heterogeneous computing, where accelerators are used instead or together with CPUs. 3. 8. Knowledge based perceptual anchoring : grounding percepts to concepts in cognitive robots

    Author : Marios Daoutis; Silvia Coradeschi; Amy Loutfi; Angelo Cangelosi; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; anchoring; knowledge representation; cognitive perception; symbol grounding; common-sense information; Datavetenskap; Computer and Systems Science;

    Abstract : A successful articial cognitive agent needs to integrate its perception of the environment with reasoning and actuation. A key aspect of this integration is the perceptual-symbolic correspondence, which intends to give meaning to the concepts the agent refers to { known as Anchoring. However, perceptual representations alone (e.g. READ MORE

  4. 9. Learning Predictive Models from Electronic Health Records

    Author : Jing Zhao; Lars Akser; Henrik Boström; Nada Lavrač; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Data Science; Machine Learning; Predictive Modeling; Data Representation; Health Informatics; Electronic Health Records; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : The ongoing digitization of healthcare, which has been much accelerated by the widespread adoption of electronic health records, generates unprecedented amounts of clinical data in a readily computable form. This, in turn, affords great opportunities for making meaningful secondary use of clinical data in the endeavor to improve healthcare, as well as to support epidemiology and medical research. 5. 10. Union mergers in times of restructuring: A psychological approach

    Author : Stephan Baraldi; Magnus Sverke; Victor M. Catano; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Organizational change; representation restructuring; union merger; change-related attitudes; commitment; communication; democracy; Psychology; Psykologi; psykologi; Psychology;

    Abstract : With globalization and economic competition on the rise, the very nature of work has been changing, and many organizations are turning to restructuring as a means of facing the developing external and internal demands for change. Unions, being no exception, are often ready to undergo fundamental restructuring in order to meet challenges, such as an increasingly heterogeneous work force and membership declines. READ MORE
