  1. 1. Testing of Heterogeneous Systems

    Author : Nauman Ghazi; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Testing; Heterogeneous systems; Information sources; Test selection;

    Abstract : Context: A system of systems often exhibits heterogeneity, for instance in implementation, hardware, process and verification. We define a heterogeneous system, as a system comprised of multiple systems (system of systems) where at least one subsystem exhibits heterogeneity with respect to the other systems. READ MORE

  2. 2. Heterogeneous goods in transportation systems

    Author : Per-Olof Arnäs; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; object-orientation; heterogeneous goods; transportation; complexity; systems science;

    Abstract : This thesis presents research regarding the impact differences in goods type have on the control of a transportation process. It also explores how the object-oriented family of methods are used and can be used in analysing and designing transportation systems. READ MORE

  3. 3. Improving On-Board Data Processing using CPU-GPU Heterogeneous Architectures for Real-Time Systems

    Author : Nandinbaatar Tsog; Mikael Nolin; Fredrik Bruhn; Moris Behnam; Saad Mubeen; Juha Plosila; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; on-board data processing; CPU-GPU; heterogeneous architectures; real-time systems; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the efficacy of heterogeneous computing architectures in real-time systems.The goals of the thesis are twofold. First, to investigate various characteristics of the Heterogeneous System Architectures (HSA) compliant reference platforms focusing on computing performance and power consumption. READ MORE

  4. 4. Analysis and Optimisation of Distributed Embedded Systems with Heterogeneous Scheduling Policies

    Author : Traian Pop; Petru Ion Eles; Zebo Peng; Luis Almeida; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Distributed embedded systems; Real-time analysis; Scheduling; Design optimisation; FlexRay; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : The growing amount and diversity of functions to be implemented by the current and future embedded applications (like, for example, in automotive electronics) have shown that, in many cases, time-triggered and event-triggered functions have to coexist on the computing nodes and to interact over the communication infrastructure. When time-triggered and event-triggered activities have to share the same processing node, a natural way for the execution support can be provided through a hierarchical scheduler. READ MORE

  5. 5. Decentralized Control of Networked Systems : Information Asymmetries and Limitations

    Author : Farhad Farokhi; Karl Henrik Johansson; Jeff S. Shamma; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Networked Control Systems; Decentralized Control; Limited Model Information; Transportation Systems; Sensor Scheduling;

    Abstract : Designing local controllers for networked systems is challenging, because in these systems each local controller can often access only part of the overall information on system parameters and sensor measurements. Traditional control design cannot be easily applied due to the unconventional information patterns, communication network imperfections, and design procedure complexities. READ MORE
