  1. 1. Optical and laser diagnostics : The versatility of Imaging

    Author : Alexios Matamis; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; methanol; COMBUSTION; diesel; schlieren; spray; imaging; pilot-injection; high-speed imaging; Fysicumarkivet A:2021:Matamis;

    Abstract : Optical and laser diagnostics is a field where optical techniques are developed that offer remote, non-intrusive measurements in order to characterise a system. Imaging is a big part of this field and the versatility it offers makes it a great tool in the hands of researchers and in practical applications. READ MORE

  2. 2. High speed imaging analysis of laser welding

    Author : Ingemar Eriksson; William O’Neill; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Manufacturing Systems Engineering; Produktionsutveckling;

    Abstract : Laser welding is often considered a new and exotic manufacturing method even though it has been used in industrial applications for nearly fifty years. In the early years only a few special applications justified the high investment cost involved, but as the price of the laser sources has reduced, industrial interest in laser welding has increased. 3. 3. Signal processing and high speed imaging as monitoring tools for pulsed laser welding

    Author : Rickard Olsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser welding; digital signal processing; High speed imaging; monitoring; Kalman filtering; Manufacturing Systems Engineering; Produktionsutveckling;

    Abstract : In Laser Materials Processing there has always been a need for suitable methods to supervise and monitor the processes on line, to ensure correct production quality or to trigger alarms when failures are detected. Numerous investigations have been made in this field, including experimental and theoretical work. READ MORE

  4. 4. Improved high velocity cold copaction processing : polymer powder to high performance parts

    Author : Bruska Azhdar; Sture Persson; Cornell Nicolescu; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; high-velocity compaction; powder polymers; polyamide-11; relaxation assist; compactibility; relative green density; morphology; pull-out; springback; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Abstract : A uniaxial High-Velocity Compaction (HVC) process for polymer powder using a cylindrical, hardened steel die and a new technique with relaxation assist was tested with a focus on the compactibility characteristics and surface morphology of the compacted materials using various heights of relaxation assist device with different compacting profiles. Relaxation assist device was presented as a new technique to reduce springback, pull-out phenomenon and to improve the compaction process. READ MORE

  5. 5. High Repetition Rate Laser Diagnostics for Combustion Applications

    Author : Johan Sjöholm; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spray; diesel; optical engine; simultaneous; laser-induced fluorescence; fuel tracer; SLIPI; Raman; LII; laser diagnostic; combustion; high repetition rate; high-speed; PLIF; multi-YAG; LIF; fuel jet; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Sjöholm;

    Abstract : High repetition rate laser diagnostics has proven to be a useful tool for studying combustion phenomena. Laser techniques are, in general, relatively non-intrusive and have the potential to measure specific species at very low concentrations and with extremely high temporal resolution. READ MORE
