  2. 12. Ice Formwork : The Rationale and Potential of Ice-Based Moulding Systems  for the Production of Complex-Geometry  Precast Concrete

    Author : Vasily Sitnikov; Oliver Tessmann; Tim Ainsworth Anstey; Harald Kloft; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ice Formwork; High-Performance Concrete; Digital Fabrication; Refrigeration; Embodied Energy; Grey energy; Carbon Footprint.; Architectural Technology; Arkitekturteknik;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis analyses and makes proposals about adapting the poten-tial of digital means of production to the needs of the concrete industry. More precisely, it aims at fostering the development of sustainable material cycles and the innovation in manufacturing methods in the field of architectural and structural design of ultra-high performance fibre-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC). 3. 13. Use of configuration information in construction projects to ensure high performance of healthcare facilities

    Author : Pia Schönbeck; Anders Ansell; Malin Löfsjögård; Göran Lindahl; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; configuration management; information management; project management; product management; healthcare facilities; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Concrete Structures; Betongbyggnad;

    Abstract : The transfer of information between the different phases of construction projects is limited, which complicates the quality assurance of configurations. Functional requirements on the building configuration are often ambiguous and lack measurable acceptance criteria. READ MORE

  4. 14. Stresses in high performance concrete due to temperature and moisture variations at early ages

    Author : Hans Hedlund; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents results from laboratory tests and numerical analyses of stress states in concrete structures arising from volume changes due to temperature and shrinkage during hydration. The laboratory tests presented here deal with: the determination of heat transfer coefficients for cooling pipes measurements of self-desiccation and shrinkage under sealed conditions deformation measurements under temperature and moisture changes and measurements of stress development during hardening for a fully restrained structural member. 5. 15. Cracking in concrete : crack prevention with air-cooling and crack distribution with steel fibre reinforcement

    Author : Patrik Groth; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : This Licentiate Thesis consists of four parts. The first two parts, paper A and B, deal with air-cooling by means of embedded pipes in order to reduce thermal cracking in concrete structures. These two papers are submitted for publication to RILEM Journal; ‘Materials and Structures'. READ MORE
