1. Acoustic characterization of orifices and perforated liners with flow and high-level acoustic excitation
Abstract : This thesis is motivated by the need for noise control in aircraft engine with orifices and perforated liner. The presence of high-level acoustic excitation, different flow situations either bias flow, grazing flow or any combination in the aircraft engine, makes the acoustic behavior complex due to the interaction between sound and flow over the lined wall. 2. Experimental Investigation of the Acoustic Properties of Perforate using Acoustic Three-Ports
Abstract : This thesis discusses the aero-acoustic characterisation of a perforate sample using a three-port technique. A rectangular T-junction with a flush mounted perforated sample at the intersection form the acoustical three-port. READ MORE

3. Physiological aspects of cochlear excitation and neurotransmitter release
Abstract : Using an in vitro model of the guinea pig, the temporal bone preparation, cochlear physiology was studied. By perfusion of the scala tympani with oxygenated culture medium, the responses of the hearing organ to sound stimuli were maintained over several hours and the functional state was followed by monitoring the electrophysiological parameters cochlear microphonics (CM) and summating potential (SP). 4. Applications of motional control in trapped Rydberg ion experiments
Abstract : Trapped ion systems are one of the leading technologies for the development of various novel quantum devices, including computers, simulators and enhanced sensors. Ion traps offer a high level of control in terms of both the electronic and motional states of individual quantum systems. READ MORE

5. Analysis of underground concrete pipelines subjected to seismic high-frequency loads
Abstract : Buried pipelines are tubular structures that are used for transportation of important liquid materials and gas in order to provide safety for human life. During an earthquake, imposed loads from soil deformations on concrete pipelines may cause severe damages, possibly causing disturbance in vital systems, such as cooling of nuclear power facilities.
