1. Improved high velocity cold copaction processing : polymer powder to high performance parts
Abstract : A uniaxial High-Velocity Compaction (HVC) process for polymer powder using a cylindrical, hardened steel die and a new technique with relaxation assist was tested with a focus on the compactibility characteristics and surface morphology of the compacted materials using various heights of relaxation assist device with different compacting profiles. Relaxation assist device was presented as a new technique to reduce springback, pull-out phenomenon and to improve the compaction process. READ MORE

2. Integration and topology of membrane proteins
Abstract : Membrane proteins comprise around 20-30% of most proteomes. They play important roles in most biochemical pathways. All receptors and ion channels are membrane proteins, which make them attractive targets for drug design. Membrane proteins insert and fold co-translationally into the endoplasmic reticular membrane of eukaryotic cells. READ MORE

4. High temperature galling : influencing parameters and mechanisms
Abstract : Damage of forming tools at elevated temperatures is a major problem in metal forming processes such as hot stamping. Of special importance is the occurrence of adhesion and gross material transfer from the work-piece to the tool surface, a phenomenon known as galling. READ MORE

5. Experimental Study of some Potassium and Sodium Bearing Aluminosilicates at High Temperatures and High Pressures
Abstract : This dissertation presents the results of a high-temperature and high-pressure experimental study of some abundant aluminositicates, which are the main repositories for the two geochemically important elements, sodium and potassium, in the Earth's crust. Phase transitions of end member alkali feldspars and jadeite clinopyroxene are studied at high and ultrahigh pressures corresponding to the conditions between the transition zone and the deep Earth's lower mantle.
