16. Feasibility study of resonant antiproton capture by ions and an open system approach to resonance decay
Abstract : The present thesis is based on two different projects. The first part deals withresonant capture of antiprotons by electron excitation in highly charged hydrogenlike ions. READ MORE

17. Theoretical Atomic Spectroscopy of Earthbound and Stellar Plasma
Abstract : Motivated by spectroscopic analysis of astrophysical and laboratory plasma, this thesis concerns the fundamental structure and spectral properties of atoms and their ions. The multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock (MCDHF) method is used to predict the emission or absorption of radiation, by atomic systems in general, and of heavy and highly charged ions in particular. 18. Collisional effects on electrostatic shock waves and heating in laser-generated plasmas
Abstract : Electrostatic shock waves are associated with an electrostatic field structure propagating at supersonic speed through laboratory or astrophysical plasmas. Shock ion acceleration schemes, based on the strong electrostatic field in the shock structure, show promising potential due to the narrow energy spread of accelerated ions – which can be applied in plasma diagnostics, the generation of warm dense matter or medical purposes. 19. Interaction Between Microgels and Oppositely Charged Peptides
Abstract : Lightly cross-linked polyelectrolyte microgels are materials with interesting properties for a range of applications. For instance, the volume of these particles can be drastically changed in response to pH, ionic strength, temperature, or the concentration of specific ions and metabolites. READ MORE

20. Modification of microcapsules for controlled release
Abstract : Fouling of marine organisms such as algae and barnacles on the boat hull is an enormous problem for the shipping industry. The negative consequences for the society are both economical and environmental. To prevent fouling in general, biocides are typically incorporated directly into the paint. READ MORE
