  1. 11. Realizations of meromorphic functions of bounded type

    Author : Christian Emmel; Luger Annemarie; Harald Woracek; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : A realization of a locally analytic function is basically a way of expressing the function in terms of the resolvent of a self-adjoint operator. In the classical Hilbert space setting realizations correspond in an essentially one-to-one way to Herglotz-Nevanlinna functions. READ MORE

  2. 12. Bergman space methods and integral means spectra of univalent functions

    Author : Alan Sola; Håkan Hedenmalm; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Univalent functions; integral means spectra; Bergman spaces; Algebra; geometry and mathematical analysis; Algebra; geometri och analys;

    Abstract : We study universal integral means spectra of certain classes of univalent functions defined on subsets of the complex plane. After reformulating the definition of the integral means spectrum of a univalent function in terms of membership in weighted Bergman spaces, we describe the Hilbert space techniques that can be used to estimate universal means spectra from above. 3. 13. Topics in Complex Analysis and Operator Theory I. The shift operator on spaces of vector-valued analytic functions II. Fatou-type theorems for general approximate identities III. Preduals of Q_p-spaces

    Author : Marcus Carlsson; Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Qp-spaces; Non-tangential limits; Shift operator; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of six articles on three different subjects in the area of complex analysis, operator theory and harmonic analysis. Part I - "The Shift Operator on Spaces of Vector-valued Analytic Functions" consists of three closely connected articles that investigate certain operators in the Cowen-Douglas class with spectrum D - the unit disc, or equivalently, the shift operator M_z (multiplication by $z$) on Hilbert spaces of vector-valued analytic functions on D. 4. 14. The space of Cohen–Macaulay curves and related topics

    Author : Katharina Heinrich; Roy Skjelnes; Ragni Piene; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : The space of Cohen–Macaulay curves is a compactification of the space of curves that are embedded in a given projective space Pn. The idea is similar to that of the Hilbert scheme but instead of adding degenerated curves, one considers only curves without embedded or isolated points. READ MORE

  5. 15. Free convolutions and the Pearcey process in random matrix theory

    Author : Philippe Moreillon; Kevin Schnelli; Benoit Collins; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Abstract : The dissertation is in Random Matrix Theory, a field at the interface of probability theory, mathematical physics and operator algebras. First, we examine elementary questions that arise in Voiculescu’s Free Probability Theory of non-commutative random variables. READ MORE
