16. Some modes of convergence and their application to homogenization and optimal composites design
Abstract : In this thesis, we develop, extend, apply, and discuss a number of methods for the study of limits of sequences of functions and operators. The connection between the notion of two-scale convergence and more general concepts of convergence is investigated and some alternative classes of admissible test functions are characterized. 17. On computational homogenization of fracturing continua
Abstract : Ductile fracture is important to control in many industrial processes, be it a desired phenomenon (e.g. in metal cutting) or a failure to be prevented (e.g. READ MORE

18. Homogenization of Some Selected Elliptic and Parabolic Problems Employing Suitable Generalized Modes of Two-Scale Convergence
Abstract : The present thesis is devoted to the homogenization of certain elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations by means of appropriate generalizations of the notion of two-scale convergence. Since homogenization is defined in terms of H-convergence, we desire to find the H-limits of sequences of periodic monotone parabolic operators with two spatial scales and an arbitrary number of temporal scales and the H-limits of sequences of two-dimensional possibly non-periodic linear elliptic operators by utilizing the theories for evolution-multiscale convergence and λ-scale convergence, respectively, which are generalizations of the classical two-scale convergence mode and custom-made to treat homogenization problems of the prescribed kinds. 19. Homogenization in Perforated Domains
Abstract : Homogenization theory is the study of the asymptotic behaviour of solutionsto partial differential equations where high frequency oscillations occur. In the case of a perforated domain the oscillations are due to variations in thedomain of the equation. READ MORE

20. Homogenization of Reynolds equations
Abstract : This Licentiate thesis is focussed on some new questions in homogenization theory, which have been motivated by some concrete problems in tribology. From the mathematical point of view, these questions are equipped with scales of Reynolds equations with rapidly oscillating coefficients. READ MORE
