6. Kinetic chain weight training, strength assessment, and functional performance testing: with reference to sports and rehabilitation
Abstract : The overall purpose of the studies was to obtain knowledge about physical performance in healthy individuals and patients after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Data are presented that concerns closed and open kinetic chain exercise, adaptive response to weight training, the methodology of muscle strength assessment, and the development of a functional testing protocol performed under conditions of fatigue. 7. Postural Control in Single-limb Stance. In Individuals with Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury and Uninjured Controls
Abstract : The overall aims of this work were to evaluate a method of assessing postural control, measured by balance in single-limb stance on a force platform, and to study balance in single-limb stance in individuals with non-operated anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in comparison with that of uninjured controls. Ninety-nine patients (99) with ACL injury and 141 uninjured subjects were included in the studies. READ MORE

8. Movement strategies and dynamic knee control after anterior cruciate ligament injury : a three-dimensional biomechanical analysis
Abstract : Background: Rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is common and mainly occurs in non-contact situations in sports, often due to momentarily poor movement control. Assessment of movement quality during sport-like tasks iscrucial to understand how to decrease the high risk of reinjury for ACL-injured persons, but also how to prevent primary injury. READ MORE

9. Non-parametric methods for functional data
Abstract : In this thesis we develop and study non-parametric methods within three major areas of functional data analysis: testing, clustering and prediction. The thesis consists of an introduction to the field, a presentation and discussion of the three areas, and six papers. READ MORE

10. Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft : postoperative intervention and influential factors for patient-relevant long-term outcome
Abstract : The overall aim of the present thesis was to assess patient-relevant outcome after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and to improve the knowledge of which factors that may predict longterm outcome after bone-patellar tendon-bone ACL reconstruction. Study I: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of a brace after ACL reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone graft on knee stability and knee function two years after surgery.
