  2. 2. Soft Issues of Industry 4.0 : A study on human-machine interactions

    Author : Prasanna Illankoon; Phillip Tretten; Uday Kumar; John Abeysekara; Sarbjeet Singh; Jayantha Prasanna Liyanage; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Drift och underhållsteknik; Operation and Maintenance;

    Abstract : Autonomous industrial operations are becoming the norm due to advancements in technology, which has led to both advantages and disadvantages for the organisations involved. The use of intelligent systems has resulted in higher system reliability, a higher quality product, and reduced risk for human error. READ MORE

  3. 3. Human Postural Sway Modeling and Balance Impairment Detection

    Author : Hedyeh Jafari; Thomas Gustafsson; George Nikolakopoulos; Fredrik Öhberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automatic Control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Falls, Fear of falling (FoF), and low balance confidence pose significant threats to health and independence among older people. This thesis aims to study humans’ postural and balance mechanisms, from analyzing the effect of multisensory inputs on balance performance and balance-related concerns to modeling the postural sway through physical dynamics and data-driven approaches. 4. 4. Riemannian Manifold-Based Modeling and Classification Methods for Video Activities with Applications to Assisted Living and Smart Home

    Author : Yixiao Yun; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; assisted living; Riemannian manifold; fall detection; smart homes; activities of daily living ADL ; video tracking; activity classification;

    Abstract : This thesis mainly focuses on visual-information based daily activity classification, anomaly detection, and video tracking through using visual sensors. The main reasons for adopting visual-information based methods are due to: (i) vision plays a major role in recognition/classification of activities which is a fundamental issue in a human-centric system; (ii) visual sensor-based analysis may possibly offer high performance with minimum disturbance to individuals' daily lives. 5. 5. Genital human papillomaviruses. Studies of their occurrence, type spectrum and expression

    Author : Ola Forslund; Malmö Klinisk mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; mRNA expression; microwell; HPV 70; type determination; CIN; quantification; urine; multifocal infections; hybridization; PCR; HPV; human papillomavirus; Microbiology; bacteriology; virology; mycology; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi;

    Abstract : The occurrence of genital human papillomavirus infection was determined in different categories of patients by means of PCR. In high proportion of young women attending an adolescent clinic, the presence of HPV DNA was demonstrated in simultaneously urethral and cervical samples, suggesting that genital HPV infections are often multifocal.
