  1. 1. Autoimmune Regulator Deficient Mice, an Animal Model of Autoimmune Polyendocrine Syndrome Type I

    Author : Signe Hässler; Ola Winqvist; Olle Kämpe; Bertrand Huard; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Molecular medicine; autoimmune regulator; autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type I; peripheral tolerance; antigen presenting cells; autoimmunity; danger signal; knockout mice; Molekylärmedicin;

    Abstract : Autoimmune diseases develop when the immune system fails to distinguish self from non-self or when the immune system is hypersensitive to endogenous or exogenous danger signals, or when a tissue erroneously sends a danger signal to the immune system. The education of the immune system to distinguish self from non-self is mainly carried out in the thymus and gives rise to central tolerance, whereas the ability to sense a danger or a healthy tissue constitutes peripheral tolerance. 2. 2. Dynamics of tuberculosis infection in Sweden

    Author : Niclas Winqvist; Enheten för infektionssjukdomar; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Tuberculosis; latent tuberculosis infection; long-term follow-up; Øresund region; interferon-gamma release assay; tuberculin skin test;

    Abstract : Sweden provides a special setting for epidemiological and demographic studies of tuberculosis (TB) infection over time for principally two reasons; first, the Swedish TB epidemic has undergone a tremendous transition since the end of the 19th century, when TB was highly endemic, to the current situation with practically interrupted indigenous transmission since several decades. Second, an increasing proportion of persons who grew up before TB transmission virtually disappeared in the 1960s are reaching advanced age, and thus creating conditions that predispose to reactivation of latent TB infection (LTBI). 3. 3. Targeted therapy in chronic lymphocytic leukemia

    Author : Maria Winqvist; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is characterized by the accumulation of mature B lymphocytes in blood, bone marrow and lymphoid tissues. Historically, patients with TP53 aberration and with refractoriness to chemoimmunotherapy had a dismal prognosis. READ MORE

  4. 4. Learning in the Loop : On Neural Network-based Model Predictive Control and Cooperative System Identification

    Author : Rebecka Winqvist; Bo Wahlberg; Cristian R. Rojas; Axel Ringh; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Learning; Model Predictive Control; System Identification; Optimal Transport; Inlärning; Modellprediktiv reglering; Systemidentifiering; Optimal transport; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Inom reglerteknik har integrationen av maskininlärningsmetoder framträtt som en central strategi för att förbättra prestanda och adaptivitet hos styrsystem. Betydande framsteg har gjorts inom flera viktiga aspekter av reglerkretsen, såsom inlärningsbaserade metoder för systemidentifiering och parameterskattning, filtrering och brusreducering samt reglersyntes. 5. 5. Studies towards a method for incorporation of 3'-deoxy-3'-C-methylenephosphonate linkages into oligonucleotides

    Author : Anna Winqvist; Colin B. Reese; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Synthetic strategies towards 3’-deoxy-3’-C-methylenephosphinate building blocks were explored. The key transformations involved stereoselective hydroboration of 1-[2-O-(tert-butyldimethylsilyl-5-O-(4-methoxytrityl)-3-deoxy-3-C-methylene- ß -D-erythro-pentofuranosyl]uracil to give the corresponding 3’-deoxy-3’-C- hydroxymethyl derivative with ribo-configuration, as well as the further conversion into a precursor with a suitable leaving group, e.
