  1. 1. A multi-objective evolutionary approach to simulation-based optimisation of real-world problems

    Author : Anna Syberfeldt; Philip Moore; Robert I. John; Amos Ng; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : Evolutionary algorithms; simulation-based optimisation; multi-objective optimisation; noise; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Teknik; Technology;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a novel evolutionary optimisation algorithm that can improve the quality of solutions in simulation-based optimisation.Simulation-based optimisation is the process of finding optimal parameter settings without explicitly examining each possible configuration of settings. 2. 2. Low-Energy Ion Escape from the Terrestrial Polar Regions

    Author : Erik Engwall; Anders I. Eriksson; Mats André; Thomas Moore; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; space physics; ion outflow; polar wind; auroral upflows; atmospheric escape; magnetotail lobes; spacecraft wake; electric field measurements; Geocosmophysics and plasma physics; Geokosmofysik och plasmafysik; Space and Plasma Physics; rymd- och plasmafysik;

    Abstract : The contemporary terrestrial atmosphere loses matter at a rate of around 100,000 tons per year. A major fraction of the net mass loss is constituted by ions, mainly H+ and O+, which escape from the Earth’s ionosphere in the polar regions. READ MORE

  3. 3. Macrolide Antibiotics in Bacterial Protein Synthesis

    Author : Martin Lovmar; Måns Ehrenberg; Tanel Tenson; Peter B. Moore; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; protein synthesis; macrolides; resistance; initiation of translation; non-competitive inhibitors; kinetics; translation accuracy; proof-reading; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Abstract : Macrolides are a large group of clinically relevant antibiotics that inhibit protein synthesis by binding to the large ribosomal subunit in the peptide exit tunnel, close to the peptidyl transferase center (PTC). We have shown that the peptide length of the resulting peptidyl-tRNA drop-off products is proportional to the distance between the PTC and the respective macrolide in the tunnel. READ MORE

  4. 4. Contribution to development of a secured traceability system for textile and clothing supply chain

    Author : Tarun Kumar Agrawal; A. Blanton Godfrey; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : Traceability; Textile and clothing; Supply chain; Secured tag; Blockchain; Textil och mode generell ; Textiles and Fashion General ;

    Abstract : Secured traceability implies not only the ability to identify, capture, and share required information on product transformation throughout the supply chain (SC), but also the ability to ensure the security of the traceability data. Due to information asymmetry and lack of transparency, textile and clothing (T&C) industries often face challenges in implementing and maintaining sufficient traceability. READ MORE

  5. 5. Enhancements in virtual robotics : Through simulation of sensors, events and 6pre-emptive' learning

    Author : Patric Tony Eriksson; Philip Moore; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Virtual robotics can be used to dramatically improve the capabilities and performance of industrial robotic systems. Virtual robotics encapsulates graphical off-line programming systems and Computer Aided Robotics (CAR). READ MORE
