  1. 1. Lead in blood. ICP-MS studies of lead in plasma, blood and erythrocyte proteins

    Author : Ingvar A Bergdahl; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; distribution; plasma; blood; erythrocytes; lead-binding prtoeins; delta-aminlevulinic acid dehydratase; inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry; ALAD; arbetsmiljömedicin; Occupational health; industrial medicine; Lead; toxicity; ICP-MS; Yrkesmedicin;

    Abstract : An inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) method for the determination of lead in blood plasma has been developed. The detection limit was below 0.1 microgram/liter, and the precision 5%. There was no significant difference between levels in plasma and serum. READ MORE

  2. 2. Re-Os dating of molybdenite : new anlytical approaches using ICP-MS

    Author : Dmitry Malinovskiy; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Abstract : In recent years, there has been a surge of interest in the direct dating of ore deposits using Re-Os geochronometer for the ore minerals themselves. Molybdenite has been or particular interest because it is a common ore mineral and is suitable for analysis by the Re-Os method due to relatively high concentration of both Re and Os. READ MORE

  3. 3. Rapid analysis of actinide isotopes using quadrupole ICP-MS for emergency preparedness and environmental monitoring

    Author : Christina Greis; Stefan Karlsson; Bert Allard; Anders Düker; Håkan Pettersson; Gi-Hoon Hong; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quadrupole ICP-MS; actinides; plutonium; preparedness; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Chemistry; Kemi; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Enviromental Science; Miljövetenskap;

    Abstract : Transuranium elements in the environment are mainly derived from nuclear weapons testing and the nuclear fuel cycle. Of growing concern are illicit nuclear trafficking and the threat of terror acts. READ MORE

  4. 4. On the reliability of methods for the speciation of mercury based on chromatographic separation coupled to atomic spectrometric detection

    Author : Johanna Qvarnström; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; Mercury; speciation; hyphenated techniques; HPLC; CE; GC; CV-AAS; ICP-MS; species-specific enriched stable isotope; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the reliability of methods for the speciation of mercury in environmental and biological samples. Problems with speciation methods that couple chromatography to atomic spectrometric detection and how to overcome the problems are discussed. READ MORE

  5. 5. On the Environmental Relevance of Platinum Group Elements

    Author : Sebastien Rauch; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; platinum; ICP-MS; automobile emission; catalyst ageing; palladium; laser ablation; urban particles; bioaccumulation; rhodium;

    Abstract : It has recently been demonstrated that platinum group elements (PGE) are released from automobile catalysts into the environment, raising concern over ecological and human health risks. However, there is still a lack of knowledge regarding the dispersion and transformation of PGE in the environment and it is therefore difficult to assess potential risks. READ MORE
