  1. 1. Modelling Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating and Fast Wave Current Drive in Tokamaks

    Author : Abdul Hannan; Torbjörn Hellsten; Dirk van Eester; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Thermonuclear fusion; Tokamak; DIII-D; JET; ITER; DEMO; ICRF; ICRH; Fast magnetosonic waves; TTMP; ELD; ICRH; Thermonuclear;

    Abstract : Fast magnetosonic waves in the ion cyclotron range of frequencies have the potential to heat plasma and drive current in a thermonuclear fusion reactor. A code, SELFO-light, has been developed to study the physics of ion cyclotron resonantheating and current drive in thermonuclear fusion reactors. READ MORE

    Abstract : Neutron emission spectra, measured with the time of flight spectrometer TOFOR, at the joint European torus (JET) are presented in this thesis. TOFOR has been in use since 2005, routinely measuring the neutron emission from JET plasmas. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Gaia reference frame amid quasar variability and proper motion patterns in the data

    Author : Rajesh Kumar Bachchan; Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The astrometric satellite Gaia was launched in December, 2013. It will observe nearly one billion stars in the Milky Way and beyond along with many extragalactic objects such as quasars and galaxies. The analysis of quasar data will provide the optical counterpart of the International Celestial Reference Frame (ICRF). READ MORE
