  1. 1. Salting-out of Colloidal Latex Particles Grafted with Poly(ethylene glycol)

    Author : Kristin Jonsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PEG; fluorinated colloids; monodisperse spheres; steric stability; emulsion polymerization; SAXS; crosslinking; salting-out; interfacial tension; SANS;

    Abstract : Colloidal particles dispersed in a medium are important both in nature and in industry. The stability of colloidal particles is determined by the interactions between them and can be improved by steric stabilization. There is no conclusive understanding of how these sterically stabilized particles become unstable. READ MORE

  2. 2. Experiment design with applications in identification for control

    Author : Henrik Jansson; Håkan Hjalmarsson; Paul von den Hof; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reglerteknik; electronics engineering; electrical engineering; Reglerteknik; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : The main part of this thesis focuses on optimal experiment design for system identification within the prediction error framework. A rather flexible framework for translating optimal experiment design into tractable convex programs is presented. The design variables are the spectral properties of the external excitations. 3. 3. Cellulose Dissolution and Amphiphilicity : Insights on the Emulsion Formation and Stabilization

    Author : Carolina Costa; Magnus Norgren; Håkan Edlund; Orlando Rojas; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : An amphiphilic polymer is expected to adsorb at the oil-water interface and be capable of stabilizing emulsions. Cellulose derivatives, cellulose nanoparticles and regenerated cellulose particles show an intrinsic amphiphilic character by self-assembling at oil-water interfaces and stabilizing emulsions without the aid of surfactants or any other co-stabilizers. 4. 4. Intensive family therapy - a context for hopes put into practice

    Author : Johan Sundelin; Barn- och ungdomspsykiatri; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Family Therapy. Milieu Therapy. Family Therapy Outcome.; Psychiatry; psychosomatics; clinical psychology; Psykiatri; klinisk psykologi; psykosomatik;

    Abstract : This dissertation consists of four sections. Section 1 deals with a presentation of a model for Intensive Family Therapy (IFT) and of the units practising this model. References to research in the field of Family Therapy as well as to relevant theories are made. A theoretical model for describing the functioning of these units is presented. READ MORE

  5. 5. The study of sensory cilia development in caenorhabditis elegans

    Author : Evgeni Efimenko; Peter Swoboda; Philippe Bastin; Södertörns högskola; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Cilia and flagella are widespread eukaryotic subcellular components that are conserved from green algae to mammals. In different organisms they function in cell motility, movement of extracellular fluids and sensory reception. READ MORE
