  1. 1. Telomere length as prognostic parameter in chronic lymphocytic leukemia

    Author : Pawel Grabowski; Göran Roos; Ylva Paulsson Karlsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; telomere length; chronic lymphocytic leukemia; prognosis; longitudinal sampling; genomic aberrations; IGHV; CD38; ZAP70; prognostic factors; Pathology; Patologi; patologi; Pathology;

    Abstract : B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) is the most common leukemia among the adult population in western countries and accounts for 30-40% of all leukemias. With survival time ranging from months to decades, the clinical course of individual CLL patients is highly variable. READ MORE

  2. 2. Stereotyped B Cell Receptors in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia : Implications for Antigen Selection in Leukemogenesis

    Author : Fiona Murray; Richard Rosenquist Brandell; Kostas Stamatopoulos; Gunilla Enblad; Gerard Tobin; Manlio Ferrarini; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : Biased immunoglobulin heavy variable (IGHV) gene usage and distinctive B-cell receptor (BCR) features have been reported in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), which may reflect clonal selection by antigens during disease development. Furthermore, the IGHV gene mutation status distinguishes two clinical entities of CLL, where patients with unmutated IGHV genes have an inferior prognosis compared to those with mutated IGHV genes. 3. 3. Molecular Genetic and DNA Methylation Profiling of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia : A Focus on Divergent Prognostic Subgroups and Subsets

    Abstract : Advancements in prognostication have improved the subdivision of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) into diverse prognostic subgroups. In CLL, IGHV unmutated and IGHV3-21 genes are associated with a poor-prognosis, conversely, IGHV mutated genes with a favourable outcome. READ MORE

  4. 4. Definition of immunoglobulin germline genes by next generation sequencing for studies of antigen-specific b cell responses

    Author : Néstor Vázquez Bernat; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Immunoglobulins play a critical role in the adaptive immune system, existing as cell surface-expressed B cell receptors and secreted antibodies. Circulating antibodies are the main correlate of protective immunity for most vaccines. READ MORE

    Author : Marie Sevov; Richard Rosenquist; Mahmoud Mansouri; Denis Alexander; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a heterogeneous disease where a significant proportion of patients will develop an aggressive disease. Today, the mutational status of the immunoglobulin heavy variable (IGHV) genes is one of the strongest prognostic markers in CLL, where unmutated IGHV genes correlate with poor outcome. READ MORE
