  1. 1. Supersymmetric Geometries in Type IIA Supergravity

    Author : Christian von Schultz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supersymmetry; Spinorial Geometry; Classification; IIA Supergravity;

    Abstract : This thesis is about supersymmetric geometries in type IIA supergravity and their classification using spinorial geometry. Appended is our first paper on the topic. There are four types of Killing spinors to treat, distinguished by their isotropy group. The appended paper treats the cases where the isotropy group is Spin(7) or Spin(7) ⋉ ℝ⁸. READ MORE

  2. 2. Environmental Policy Space and International Investment Law

    Author : Åsa Romson; Jonas Ebbesson; Ole Kristian Fauchald; Mads Andenæs; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; policy space; environmental law; international investment law; IIA; fair and equitable treatment; legitimate expectations; national treatment; indirect expropriation; chilling effect; miljörätt; Environmental Law;

    Abstract : This dissertation analyses the implications of international investment law on host states’ legal ability to protect the environment, regulate sustainable use of natural resources, and develop new approaches to manage environmental risks and uncertainties. ‘Environmental policy space’ is found to be a useful term when exploring the regulatory autonomy in this context. 3. 3. Supersymmetric Geometries in Type IIA Supergravity

    Author : Christian von Schultz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Flux compactifications; Supergravity; Supersymmetry; Superstring vacua;

    Abstract : Supergravity theory is any supersymmetric theory with a local supersymmetry parameter. This thesis undertakes the study of type IIA supergravity, a supergravity theory in ten dimensions associated with type IIA string theory. READ MORE

  4. 4. Proteoglycans, group IIA phospholipase A2, and lipoproteins.Potential involvement in atherogenesis

    Author : Peter Sartipy; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; atherosclerosis; group IIA phospholipase A2; proteoglycans; lipoproteins; inflammation;

    Abstract : Atherosclerosis is a multifactorial complex disease characterized by a focal accumulation of ApoB-100 containing lipoproteins, extracellular matrix (ECM), and cells in the arterial intima accompanied by an inflammatory reaction. In vivo and in vitro data supports the hypothesis that sulfated extracellular proteoglycans may be responsible for the selective retention of low density lipoproteins (LDL) in the arterial wall.
