  1. 1. Jet Production and Parton Dynamics in Deep Inelastic Scattering

    Author : Mattias Davidsson; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum field theory; Elementary particle physics; DIS; ep scattering; HERA; H1; jets; small-x; Parton Dynamics; Elementarpartikelfysik; kvantfältteori; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Davidsson;

    Abstract : Hard QCD processes have been studied by measuring the di-jet event rate for deep inelastic scattering in the kinematic range 5 < Q2 < 100 GeV2 and 10-4 < x < 10-2. The jets we re reconstructed using the cone algorithm in the hadronic center-of-mass frame in which the transverse momentum of the jets were required to be greater than 5 GeV. READ MORE

  4. 4. Experimental Studies of Neutron Emission Induced by Heavy-Ion Scattering

    Author : Pawel Nadel-Turonski; Leif Nilsson; Adriaan van den Berg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; neutron; inelastic scattering; heavy ions; position sensitive silicon detectors; storage ring; cluster-jet target; differential cross section; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Abstract : A beam of 250A MeV 17O ions was scattered from argon and xenon targets. The large excess of fast neutrons compared with statistical model calculations that was observed earlier for xenon, was confirmed and found for argon as well. READ MORE

  5. 5. Neutron Scattering at 96 MeV

    Author : Angelica Öhrn; Jan Blomgren; Robert Haight; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; neutron; elastic scattering; inelastic scattering; differential cross section; optical model potential; Wick s limit; angular distribution; pre-equilibrium; Kärnfysik; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Data on elastic scattering of 96 MeV neutrons from 56Fe, 89Y and 208Pb in the angular interval 10-70° are presented. The previously published data on 208Pb have been extended, as a new method has been developed to obtain additional information at the most forward angles. READ MORE
