  1. 1. Volatile metabolites from microorganisms in indoor environments : sampling, analysis and identification

    Author : Anna-Lena Sunesson; Alvin Fox; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Adsorbents; Analysis; Cultivation; Determination; Gas chromatography; Identification; Indicator substances; Indoor air; Mass spectrometry; Metabolites; Microbial volatile organic compounds; Optimization; Sampling; Sick buildings; Thermal desorption; Aspergillus versicolor; Cladosporium cladosporioides; Paecilomyces variotii; Pénicillium commune; Phialophora fastigiata; Streptomyces albidoflavus;

    Abstract : Microorganisms are able to produce a wide variety of volatile organic compounds. This thesis deals with sampling, analysis and identification of such compounds, produced by microorganisms commonly found in buildings. READ MORE

  2. 2. Improved Neuropeptide Identification : Bioinformatics and Mass Spectrometry

    Author : Maria Fälth Savitski; Per Andrén; David Fenyö; Per Svenningsson; Ronald Beavis; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bioinformatics; neuropepides; database; peptide identification; peptide fragmentation; mass spectrometry; tandem mass spectromerty; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik;

    Abstract : Bioinformatic methods were developed for improved identification of endogenous peptides using mass spectrometry. As a framework for these methods, a database for endogenous peptides, SwePep, was created. It was designed for storing information about endogenous peptides including tandem mass spectra. READ MORE

  3. 3. Multivariable Frequency-Domain Identification of Industrial Robots

    Author : Erik Wernholt; Svante Gunnarsson; Jan Swevers; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Frequency-domain identification; industrial robots; nonparametric identification; nonlinear gray-box identification; multivariable systems; closed-loop identification; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Industrirobotar är idag en väsentlig del i tillverkningsindustrin där de bland annat används för att minska kostnader, öka produktivitet och kvalitet och ersätta människor i farliga eller slitsamma uppgifter. Höga krav på noggrannhet och snabbhet hos robotens rörelser innebär också höga krav på de matematiska modeller som ligger till grund för robotens styrsystem. READ MORE

  4. 4. Viscoelastic Materials : Identification and Experiment Design

    Author : Agnes Rensfelt; Torsten Söderström; Händel Peter; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; viscoelastic materials; complex modulus; system identification; optimal experiment design; distributed parameter systems; frequency domain identification; wave propagation; Automatic control; Reglerteknik; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Abstract : Viscoelastic materials can today be found in a wide range of practical applications. In order to make efficient use of these materials in construction, it is of importance to know how they behave when subjected to dynamic load. READ MORE

  5. 5. Structural Reformulations in System Identification

    Author : Christian Lyzell; Martin Enqvist; Lennart Ljung; Alessandro Chiuso; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System identification; Dimension reduction; Subspace identification; Difference algebra;

    Abstract : In system identification, the choice of model structure is important and it is sometimes desirable to use a flexible model structure that is able to approximate a wide range of systems. One such model structure is the Wiener class of systems, that is, systems where the input enters a linear time-invariant subsystem followed by a time-invariant nonlinearity. READ MORE
