  1. 1. Global careerists’ identity construction : A narrative study of repeat expatriates and international itinerants

    Author : Malin Näsholm; Nils Wåhlin; Tommy Jensen; Christopher Brewster; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; global careers; repeat expatriates; international itinerants; narrative; career; identity construction; social identity;

    Abstract : Research on international work experiences has to a great extent focused on an international assignment as a single event, and on how to optimize it from the organization’s perspective. This thesis addresses individuals’ subjective experiences of international work experiences and focuses on individuals with global careers, who see working abroad as a major element of their careers, involving several international assignments or international work experiences. 2. 2. Cubical Intepretations of Type Theory

    Author : Simon Huber; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dependent Type Theory; Univalence Axiom; Models of Type Theory; Identity Types; Cubical Sets;

    Abstract : The interpretation of types in intensional Martin-Löf type theory as spaces and their equalities as paths leads to a surprising new view on the identity type: not only are higher-dimensional equalities explained as homotopies, this view also is compatible with Voevodsky's univalence axiom which explains equality for type-theoretic universes as homotopy equivalences, and formally allows to identify isomorphic structures, a principle often informally used despite its incompatibility with set theory. While this interpretation in homotopy theory as well as the univalence axiom can be justified using a model of type theory in Kan simplicial sets, this model can, however, not be used to explain univalence computationally due to its inherent use of classical logic. 3. 3. Univalent Types, Sets and Multisets : Investigations in dependent type theory

    Author : Håkon Robbestad Gylterud; Erik Palmgren; Nicola Gambino; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; type theory; homotopy type theory; dependent types; constructive set theory; databases; formalisation; agda; Mathematics; matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of four papers on type theory and a formalisation of certain results from the two first papers in the Agda language. We cover topics such as models of multisets and sets in Homotopy Type Theory, and explore ideas of using type theory as a language for databases and different ways of expressing dependencies between terms. 4. 4. Managers' identity work : experiences from introspective management training

    Author : Thomas Andersson; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : Civics; Samhällsvetenskap; Humanities and Social sciences; Humaniora-samhällsvetenskap;

    Abstract : The study takes its point of departure in the complex relation between “being yourself” and being manager, i.e. the struggle between what one ought to do as a representative of an organizations and what one want to do as a person. Introspective management training constitutes one extreme of focusing on the person in this matter, i. READ MORE

  5. 5. Round Trips to Heaven : Otherworldly Travelers in Early Judaism and Christianity

    Author : Leif Å Carlsson; Centrum för teologi och religionsvetenskap; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Teologi; Theology; 3 Baruch.; death-informing; identity-providing; legitimacy; identity; Tradition Group; tradition; Christianity; Judaism; cosmology; otherworldly traveler; heavenly journey; heaven; Apocalyptic; apocalypse; Bible; Bibelvetenskap;

    Abstract : In the beginning of the Common Era, a number of religious texts were written recounting heavenly journey adventures. These narratives have come to constitute a recurring theme in research regarding ancient religions. Round Trips to Heaven features several early Jewish and Christian heavenly journey texts. READ MORE
