  1. 1. Peptidoglycan recognition proteins in Drosophila melanogaster

    Author : Thomas Werner; Dan Hultmark; Bruno Lemaitre; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; Drosophila; PGRP; peptidoglycan; pattern recognition; imd; Relish; isoform; RNAi; mbn-2; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Abstract : The fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster is an excellent model organism to study the innate immune response, because insects and mammals share conserved features regarding the recognition and destruction of microorganisms and Drosophila is easily accessible to genetic manipulation. In my present study, I identified a new family of pattern recognition molecules for bacterial peptidoglycan in Drosophila, the Peptidoglycan Recognition Proteins (PGRP). READ MORE

  2. 2. Design and Characterization of RF-Power LDMOS Transistors

    Author : Olof Bengtsson; Jörgen Olsson; Lars Vestling; Claes Beckman; Olof Tornblad; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Power Amplifiers; LDMOS transistors; RF-power; IMD; Technology CAD; Load-Pull; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : In mobile communication new applications like wireless internet and mobile video have increased the demand of data-rates. Therefore, new more wideband systems are being implemented. READ MORE

  3. 3. Peptidoglycan Recognition Proteins : Major Regulators of Drosophila Immunity

    Author : Peter Mellroth; Håkan Steiner; Julien Royet; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Innate immunity; peptidoglycan recognition protein; PGRP; Toll; Imd; Drosophila immunity; Microbiology and immunology; Mikrobiologi och immunologi;

    Abstract : All eukaryotic organisms have an innate immune system characterized by germ-line encoded receptors and effector molecules, which mediate detection and clearance of microbes such as bacteria, fungi, and parasites. VertebrateDrosophila as a genetically tractable organism with a This thesis concerns the peptidoglycan recognition protein (PGRP) gene family in the fruit fly. READ MORE

  4. 4. Individual Metering and Charging of Heat and Hot Water in Multi-Apartment Buildings

    Author : Simon Siggelsten; Byggproduktion; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Heat; hot water; cost allocation; multi-apartment buildings; energy savings.;

    Abstract : Individual metering and charging (IMC) means that tenants in multi-apartment buildings should pay only for their own energy consumption, which gives an economic incentive for energy-conscious behaviour. In April, 2014, Swedish legislation about energy metering in buildings (SFS 2014:267) was passed by the Swedish Parliament as an implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27/EU. 5. 5. Microwave FET Modeling and Applications

    Author : Christian Fager; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MESFET; uncertainty; model; FMCW; statistical; HEMT; small-signal; extraction; distortion; intermodulation; CMOS; LDMOS; power amplifier; estimation; FET; large-signal; radar; AM noise;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with three distinct topics within the areas of modeling, analysis and circuit design with microwave field effect transistors (FETs). First, the extraction of FET small-signal model parameters is addressed. READ MORE
