  1. 1. Immune Complex Regulated Cytokine Production in Rheumatic and Lymphoproliferative Diseases

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Linda Mathsson; Uppsala universitet.; [2007]
    Keywords : Immunology; Immune complex; Cytokines; Rheumatic diseases; Lymphoproliferative diseases; Immunologi;

    Abstract : Immune complexes (ICs) are produced during normal immune responses and facilitate clearance of foreign antigens. ICs not efficiently cleared from the circulation can cause tissue damage. This might happen if ICs are formed with autoantibodies and autoantigens. READ MORE

  2. 2. B cell deviations and type 1 diabetes in the NOD mouse

    University dissertation from Umeå : Umeå Universitet

    Author : Mia Sundström; Umeå universitet.; [2012]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Type 1 diabetes; Autoimmunity; NOD mouse; Idd; TACI; Immune response; Immune complex; immunologi; Immunology;

    Abstract : Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the insulin producing β-cells in the pancreatic islets of Langerhans are selectively attacked by the immune system. The β-cells are destroyed resulting in a reduced or eliminated insulin production, which in turn lead to a high blood glucose level. READ MORE

  3. 3. Immune complex induced IgG1-rheumatoid factor production

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Stockholm University

    Author : Eva Nordström; Stockholms universitet.; [2000]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; immunologi; Immunology;

    Abstract : Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic crippling disease mainly characterised by inflammation in the joints. Most patients with rheumatoid arthritis are seropositive, i.e. have increased serum levels of antibodies against the constant part of IgG, so called rheumatoid factors (RF). READ MORE

  4. 4. Mast cells: bad enemies or good friends? A study of the effects of IgG immune complexes on mast cell biology

    University dissertation from Göteborg : University of Gothenburg

    Author : Lisa M Larsson; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2011]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mast cell; Fc receptor; Apoptosis; Immune complex; Adjuvant; CTA1-DD.;

    Abstract : Mast cells are classically defined as bad enemies to human health due to their critical involvement in IgE-dependent allergy by virtue of the expression of the high affinity IgE receptor, FcgammaRI, on these cells. However, mouse mast cells also express FcgammaRIIB and FcgammaRIIIA, two receptors that bind IgG especially in the form of IgG immune complexes. READ MORE

  5. 5. Fcγ Receptors in the Immune Response

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Teresita Díaz de Ståhl; Uppsala universitet.; [2001]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; Fc Receptors; IgG Receptors; IgE Receptors; Immune regulation; In vivo animal models; Mouse; Rh prophylaxis; Rheumatoid arthritis; Transgenic knockout; Genetik; MEDICINE Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine Clinical genetics; MEDICIN Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin Klinisk genetik; Pathology; patologi;

    Abstract : Circulating immune complexes play an important role in the modulation of antibody responses and in the pathogenesis of immune diseases. This thesis deals with the in vivo regulatory properties of antibodies and their specific Fc receptors. READ MORE
