  1. 11. On Alternative Fuels for Internal Combustion Engines : A study of biodiesel, gaseous methane and methanol

    Author : Ludvig Adlercreutz; Andreas Cronhjort; Ola Stenlåås; Magnus Sjöberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Gaseous methane combustion; spark ignition; single cylinder research engine; particle number; particle emissions; oil ash content; CO2; Green House Gases; engine testing; engine development; emissions; combustion chamber design; injector fouling; environmental impact; road transportation; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Abstract :  This thesis covers some of the environmental impacts of internalcombustion engines running on alternative fuels. The focus of thestudies conveyed is the reduction of greenhouse gases and particleemissions, as these two factors are of great importance for the pathsthat road transportation is facing. READ MORE

  2. 12. Quality of Test Design in Test Driven Development

    Author : Adnan Čaušević; Sasikumar Punnekkat; Henry Muccini; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; agile; software testing; test driven development; quality of tests; developer testing; test design quality; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : One of the most emphasised software testing activities in an Agile environment is the usage of the Test Driven Development (TDD) approach. TDD is a development activity where test cases are created by developers before writing the code, and all for the purpose of guiding the actual development process. READ MORE

  3. 13. Additive Manufacturing of Ni-Fe Superalloys : Exploring the Alloying Envelope and the Impact of Process on Mechanical Properties

    Author : Carl Johan Hassila; Urban Wiklund; Staffan Jacobson; Johan Moverare; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Additive manufacturing; alloying for AM; PBF-LB; microstructure; tensile and impact testing; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot tribomaterial; Engineering Science with specialization in Tribo Materials;

    Abstract : Additive manufacturing of metals has received a lot of attention in the last decade as this family of manufacturing processes allows the manufacturing of complicated geometries which would be difficult to produce using conventional manufacturing techniques. Additive manufacturing of the Ni-Fe based superalloys 625 and 718 using the Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam (PBF-LB) process is facilitated by the fact that these alloys were developed as weldable alternatives to other high-strength, high-temperature Ni-based superalloys. 4. 14. Evaluation of Low Temperature Damage in Asphalt Mixtures with Non-Contact Resonance Testing

    Author : Abiy Bekele; Denis Jelagin; William Buttlar; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Asphalt concrete; dynamic modulus; non-contact excitation; resonance testing; thermally induced damage; viscoelasticity; Asfaltbetong; beröringsfri excitation; resonansfrekvens; resonansprovning; styvhetsmodul; Building Materials; Byggnadsmaterial;

    Abstract : Thetemperature induceddamage in asphalt mixtureshas always been a major distress that requires a substantialconsiderationin the asphalt industry. One of the most important aspects of studying temperature induceddamage is developing a practical test method for evaluation of the material’s resistanceto it. READ MORE

  5. 15. Uptake of HIV testing : assessing the impact of a home-based intervention in rural South Africa

    Author : Hanani Tabana; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : HIV counselling and testing;

    Abstract : Background: Despite the introduction of HIV counselling and testing (HCT) methods about 30 years ago, HIV testing uptake remains low in most high HIV prevalence settings. To date, knowledge of status still remains a critical approach in the fight against HIV and a first step to prevention, access to care, treatment, and support. READ MORE
