16. iLocks: a novel tool for RNA assays with improved specificity
Abstract : The Central Dogma of molecular biology describes a framework for how genetic information is transferred in cells, placing RNA as a messenger between DNA and translated proteins. During the last years, interest in RNA research has grown tremendously due to the increasing understanding and recognition of the importance of RNA in regulation of gene expression, biochemical catalysis, and genome integrity surveillance. 17. Evaluation of in-situ measurements of composite bridge with integral abutments
Abstract : Bridges are an important element of the infrastructure today. The technical competence has reached high levels in most countries and the limits given to a bridge designer are set by economic restrictions rather than technical skill. READ MORE

18. Development of a methodology for in-situ dynamic testing of ground support
Abstract : The increasing mining depth leads to higher stress magnitudes, resulting in increased seismic activity and more seismically-induced damage. The effectiveness of the ground support system under dynamic loading conditions has therefore become of prime interest to the mining companies in order to provide safe mining conditions with a minimum of production disturbances caused by unstable infrastructure. 19. The hygrothermal inertia of massive timber connstructions
Abstract : The work presented in this Doctoral dissertation concerns the ability of heavy timber structures to passively reduce the fluctuations of the indoor temperature and of the indoor relative humidity, through the dynamic process of heat and moisture storage in wood. We make the hypothesis that the potential offered by the hygrothermal inertia of heavy timber structures is significant, and that it could provide a passive way of regulating the indoor climate. 20. Chemistry of Combustion Products Investigation of Combustion Chamber Deposits Formed in a Gasoline Direct Injection Stratified Charge SI Engine
Abstract : The aim of this work was to characterize deposits formed in the combustion chambers of a gasoline direct injection stratified charge SI engine. The engine was run with several types of gasoline fuels and a special reference engine oil. READ MORE
