  1. 1. Analysis and Control Aspects of Brushless Induction Machines with Rotating Power Electronic Converters

    Author : Naveed ur Rehman Malik; Chandur Sadarangani; Luca Peretti; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Doubly-fed induction generator; extended vector control; induction machine; internal model control; Lindmark concept; low voltage ride through; passive resistive network; rotating power electronic converter; rotating exciter; symmetrical faults; synchronous machine; unity power factor; unsymmetrical faults; vector control; wind turbines.; Järnvägsgruppen - Elsystem; Järnvägsgruppen - Elsystem;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the steady-state, dynamic and control aspects of new type of brushless configuration of a doubly-fed induction machine in which the slip rings and carbon brushes are replaced by rotating power electronics and a rotating exciter. The aim is to study the stability of this novel configuration of the generator under mechanical and grid disturbances for wind power applications. READ MORE

  2. 2. Stress induced virulence of Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocytogenes

    Author : Nikoleta Zeaki; Teknisk mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Control of the dissemination of pathogens in the food production chain is an on-going process with new challenges emerging as pathogenic bacteria evolve and express enhanced virulence characteristics. Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocytogenes are two notorious pathogens responsible for staphylococcal food poisoning (SFP) and listeriosis: a foodborne intoxication and an infectious disease respectively. 3. 3. High-Efficiency SiC Power Conversion : Base Drivers for Bipolar Junction Transistors and Performance Impacts on Series-Resonant Converters

    Author : Georg Tolstoy; Hans-Peter Nee; Stig Munk-Nielsen; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Silicon Carbide; Bipolar Junction Transistor BJT ; Resonant converter; Series-resonant converter SLR ; Base drive circuits; High- Efficiency Converters; High-Frequency Converters; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to bring an understanding to the silicon carbide (SiC) bipolar junction transistor (BJT). SiC power devices are superior to the silicon IGBT in several ways. They are for instance, able to operate with higher efficiency, at higher frequencies, and at higher junction temperatures. READ MORE

  4. 4. Simulations of Silicon Carbide Chemical Vapor Deposition

    Author : Örjan Danielsson; Erik Janzén; Anne Henry; Michel Pons; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Most of the modern electronics technology is based on the semiconducting material silicon. The increasing demands for smaller electronic devices with improved performance at lower costs drive the conventional silicon technology to its limits. READ MORE

  5. 5. Experimental Study on Steam Explosions in Chemical Solutions and Seawater

    Author : Yucheng Deng; Weimin Ma; Sevostian Bechta; Andrei Komlev; Renaud Meignen; KTH; []
    Keywords : Severe accident; fuel coolant interactions; steam explosion; chemical additives; seawater; Svåra haverier; bränsle-kylmedelsinteraktioner; ångexplosion; kemiska tillsatser; havsvatten; Kärnenergiteknik; Nuclear Engineering;

    Abstract : Steam explosions may be encountered in severe accidents of light water reactors (LWRs), which are thermal detonations caused by rapid and intense vaporization of the coolant upon its direct contact with the core melt (corium). Motivated by the interest in understanding and mitigation of severe accident progression, many studies have been conducted to investigate the steam explosion phenomena during severe accidents.
