11. Multiscale Modelling of Proximal Femur Growth : Importance of Geometry and Influence of Load
Abstract : Longitudinal growth of long bone occurs at growth plates by a process called endochondral ossification. Endochondral ossification is affected by both biological and mechanical factors. READ MORE

12. Technology Carriers: The Role of Engineers in the Expanding Swedish Shipbuilding System
Abstract : This study analyses the process which shaped the role or function of college-trained engineers within a technological system or innovation system during the period from the start of the 20th century until the 1950s and 1960s. With a conceptual framework of sociotechnical systems and of engineers as a social group of technology carriers this process is studied in one particular system, namely the Swedish shipbuilding system. 13. Advancement of sensor technology for monitoring and control of upstream bioprocesses
Abstract : In bioprocesses, the upstream process part with cultivation and harvesting steps has decisive influence on the final process outcome, including the quality of the product, the productivity and the yield. To ensure stable product quality of biopharmaceuticals, the U.S. READ MORE

14. Investigating the effect of extending powder particle size distribution of Ti-6Al-4V produced by powder bed fusion laser beam process : Influence of process parameters on material integrity
Abstract : This thesis focuses on the topic of PBF-LB applied to titanium alloys. Of allalloys, an α + β is chosen, named Ti-6Al-4V. The selection of this particular alloy is driven by its current widespread use in many industrial applications where high strength coupled with low density are both desirable properties. READ MORE

15. Fungal production and solid state chemistry of eritadenine : an integrated approach to development of an active pharmaceutical ingredient
Abstract : The present thesis demonstrates an integrated approach to the development of a potential active pharmaceutical ingredient, eritadenine, a cholesterol reducing compound originating from the shiitake mushroom (Lentinus edodes). The main areas covered in the thesis are a method for quantification of eritadenine, production of eritadenine by submerged cultivation of fungal mycelia and investigation of the influence of process parameters on mycelial growth and production, and finally solid state characterizations of eritadenine.
