  1. 1. Cytofluorometry : technique and applications

    Author : Ingemar Rundquist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : The aims of this investigation were to examine the conditions for rapid fluorescence measurements on cellular material, to improve the performance of measurement systems for microscope fluorometry, and to apply this technique in studies on mast cell biology. Fluorescence fading, a general complication of cytofluorometry, was studied during illumination times in the millisecond range, and a new fading phenomenon characterized by short duration and rapid recovery was described. 2. 2. Histone H1 : Subtypes and phosphorylation in cell life and death

    Author : Anna Gréen; Ingemar Rundquist; Peter Söderkvist; Rolf Ohlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell biology; Cellbiologi;

    Abstract : The genetic information of a human diploid cell is contained within approximately 2 metres of linear DNA. The DNA molecules are compacted and organized in various ways to fit inside the cell nucleus. Various kinds of histones are involved in this compaction. One of these histones, histone H1 is the topic of the present thesis. READ MORE

  3. 3. Phosphoproteomic analysis of Arabidopsis thaliana ribosomes

    Author : Hanna Klang Årstrand; Alexander Vener; Cornelia Spetea Wiklund; Ingemar Rundquist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Ribosomes serve as the site of protein synthesis in all living cells. Ribosomes were discovered in 1955 by George E. Palade when he was studying the endoplasmic reticulum which is covered by ribosomes. He received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1974 for this discovery. READ MORE

  4. 4. Chromatin, histones, and epigenetic tags

    Author : Elisavet Koutzamani; Ingemar Rundquist; Herbert Lindner; Sergey Belikov; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chromatin; histones; histone variants; epigenetics; histone H4 methylation; linker histone phosphorylation; Medical cell biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi;

    Abstract : The fundamental building blocks of chromatin are the nucleosomes. Each such unit is composed of about 200 bp of DNA, the well-conserved core histones (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4) and a linker histone (H1). READ MORE

  5. 5. Fibroblast Differentiation and Models of Human Skin

    Author : Jonathan Rakar; Gunnar Kratz; Ingemar Rundquist; Anders Lindahl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis combines three publications and one manuscript, covering two principal topics: functional differentiation of human fibroblasts and laboratory models of human skin. The two topics favourably unite in the realm of tissue engineering. This thesis is therefore split into three main parts: 1. READ MORE
