  1. 1. On the Modeling of Premixed Combustion under Varying Equivalence Ratios

    Author : Karl-Johan Nogenmyr; Strömningsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Level set G-equation; Combustion modeling; LES; Stratified Premixed Flame;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with numerical simulation of reactive flows. The numerical method is three dimensional and unsteady, which allows for spatial and temporal resolution of most of the scales of the fluid motion and the reaction process. In the turbulent cases studied, scales down to Taylor scales are resolved. READ MORE

  2. 2. Conceptual Thermodynamic Cycle and Aerodynamic Gas Turbine Design - on an Oxy-fuel Combined Cycle

    Author : ADRIAN NILSSON DAHLQVIST; Kraftverksteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Gas turbine; combined cycle; conceptual design; aerodynamic; mid-span design; through-flow design; oxy-fuel; SCOC-CC; OCC; gas turbine; Combined cycle; conceptual design; aerodynamic; mid-span design; Through-flow design; Oxy-fuel; SCOC-CC; OCC;

    Abstract : The world is today facing a serious problem with global warming, which is heading towards an appallingly high temperature level. The greater part of the overall climate science community agree that global warming is caused by the greenhouse effect, which depends largely on emitted CO2 emissions from the combustion of fossil fuel. 3. 3. Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis on Transport Phenomena in Solid Oxide Electrochemical Cells

    Author : Maria Navasa; Värmeöverföring; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The thesis comprises an analysis of the heat transfer phenomenon in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and a description of various transport phenomena in a solid oxide electrolysis cell. Both devices are encompassed under the solid oxide electrochemical cell concept. READ MORE

  4. 4. Application and Development of Optical Soot Diagnostic Techniques

    Author : Ted Lind; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Keywords : Soot; Soot diagnostics; Soot oxidation; Extinction Imaging; Soot thermometry; Optical diagnostics;

    Abstract : Internal combustion engines (ICE) have been a vital part of society ever since their inception more than a hundred years ago. While initially it seemed as if the replacement of horse and carriage had solved the issue with pollutant emissions, it became evident in the 60’s that emission from ICEs is a major concern. 5. 5. Development of a Multidimensional Residual Distribution Solver for Large Eddy Simulation of Industrial Turbulent Flows

    Author : Doru Caraeni; Strömningsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermal engineering; High-Order Compact Schemes.; Compressible Flows; Parallel Computations; Multidimensional Residual Distribution Schemes; Large Eddy Simulation; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; termodynamik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents the results of the author's research activity to develop a time-space accurate flow-solver for Large Eddy Simulations (LES), based on the Multidimensional Residual Distribution approach. The aim of this work is the attempt to develop a compact high-order algorithm which includes multidimensional flow physics, in hope of creating a better algorithm for LES of turbulent compressible flows.
