16. Monoglyceride Lipase and Hormone-Sensitive Lipase - Molecular and structural aspects
Abstract : Triglycerides in the adipocyte are hydrolysed by means of three consecutive reactions through the combined action of two lipases: hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) and monoglyceride lipase (MGL). HSL catalyses the first and rate-limiting step, i.e. READ MORE

17. Metabolism of quinoline 3-carboxamide compounds, a group of synthetic immunomodulators, in various species
Abstract : Cytochrome P450 (CYP) is involved in the metabolism of the majority of clinically used drugs. We have studied the CYP mediated metabolism of quinoline 3-carboxamides, a group of synthetic immunomodulators in liver microsomal preparations from various species. READ MORE

18. Regulatory mechanisms controlling T cell activity
Abstract : This thesis is based on work studying the immunoregulatory mechanisms that govern the balance between activation and inactivation of T lymphocytes. Most of the work has been carried out in an experimental system using a T cell receptor (TCR-Vb3) transgenic mouse strain to obtain a homogenous T-cell population and utilizing the properties of bacterial superantigens to induce T cell responses and unresponsiveness in vivo. 19. ELUCIDATING REGULATORY NETWORKS PROMOTING B-CELL DEVELOPMENT
Abstract : B-cells are an essential part of our adaptive immune system. A network of transcription factors together with external signals facilitate the gradual developmental progression from progenitor cells towards the B-cell fate. Several key factors participating in this network have been identified. READ MORE

20. Molecular Mechanisms in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Aging
Abstract : The blood is composed of many different cell types that through tightly regulated mechanisms are derived from hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). In addition, HSCs are able to undergo self-renewing divisions whereby new HSCs are produced. READ MORE
