6. Laminin G Domains, their Receptors, and Activation of Intracellular Pathways
Abstract : Basement membranes are sheet like structures underlying epithelial, endothelial, adipocytes, muscle and peripheral nerve cells. Laminins are an important family of basement membrane proteins implicated in various biological functions through their interactions with cell surface receptors. Laminins are trimers composed of a, b and g chains. READ MORE

7. The effect of virus on the cytotoxic effector function of normal human lymphocytes
Abstract : The cytotoxic effect of human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) from healthy donors against mumps virus infected cells was studied by 5lCR-release assay. With several different cell fractionation techniques the effector cells were demonstrated to be undistinguishable from the lymphocytes responsible for antibody dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC, K-cells) and from those responsible for natural cytotoxicity (NK cells). 8. Studies of hepatitis C virus envelope proteins : interaction with host cells and as targets for the humoral response
Abstract : Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a major cause of chronic hepatitis infection worldwide. It leads to chronic infection in over 80% in infected patients and may result in liver cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma and autoimmune disorders. READ MORE

9. Studies of calcium binding proteins 1 and 2 and protein kinase CK2
Abstract : The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is a major intracellular compartment of eukaryotic cells and is the site of the synthesis and post-translational modification of both secretory and membrane glycoproteins. Upon cell rupture vesicles of several kinds are formed from cell membranes, mainly derived from ER and are called microsomes. READ MORE

10. Effects of galectins and antibodies in HIV infection; Novel Assays
Abstract : The high variability of the HIV envelope glycoproteins (Env), and their heavy glycan coating, contributes to the limited host immune control. Still, broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) are found in some chronically infected HIV-infected individuals, which has spurred the research on antibody-based vaccines. READ MORE
