  1. 1. Computational models for intent recognition in robotic systems

    Author : Michele Persiani; Thomas Hellström; Sven Magg; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Intent Recognition; Robotics; Plan Recognition; Speech; Affordances; Computer Science; datalogi;

    Abstract : The ability to infer and mediate intentions has been recognized as a crucial task in recent robotics research, where it is agreed that robots are required to be equipped with intentional mechanisms in order to participate in collaborative tasks with humans.Reasoning about - or rather, perceiving - intentions enables robots to infer what other agents are doing, to communicate what are their plans, or to take proactive decisions. 2. 2. Social Recognition and Employees' Organizational Support

    Author : Tómas Bjarnason; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Services; Reciprocity; Organizational Commitment; Intent to Stay; Service effort; Service Improvements; Social Recognition; Influence; Skill-utilization; Approval;

    Abstract : The focal point of this study is to explore the support service employees give to their organization. Its main objective is to define the concept of organizational support and to examine its causes, in particular to investigate the effects of social recognition on employees’ organizational support. Abstract : With the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, intelligent computer programs known as agents are coming increasingly close to the life of human beings. In an optimistic view, predictions tell us that agents will be governing many machines such as phones, robots and cars. READ MORE

  4. 4. On the Utility of Representation Learning Algorithms for Myoelectric Interfacing

    Author : Alexander Olsson; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EMG; Machine Learning; Deep Learning; Feature Learning; Biosignal Processing; Gesture Recognition; Muscle-Computer Interfaces; Myoelectric Control; Upper-Limb Prosthetics;

    Abstract : Electrical activity produced by muscles during voluntary movement is a reflection of the firing patterns of relevant motor neurons and, by extension, the latent motor intent driving the movement. Once transduced via electromyography (EMG) and converted into digital form, this activity can be processed to provide an estimate of the original motor intent and is as such a feasible basis for non-invasive efferent neural interfacing. 5. 5. Who is laughing now? Laughter-infused dialogue systems

    Author : Vladislav Maraev; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; laughter; dialogue systems; humour; machine learning; reasoning; natural language processing; artificial agents;

    Abstract : This thesis paves the way for including laughter in spoken dialogue systems in a domain-general and linguistically valid way using computational linguistics tools and methods. The thesis is concerned with three main areas. The first area concerns the placement of laughter in relation to speech and other behaviours. READ MORE
