    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin; invärtesmedicin; Internal Medicine;

    Abstract : Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is associated with morbidity and mortality due to cardiovascular disease and renal failure. This study focused on the impact of glycemic control on the development of DN and the metabolic consequences of DN. The euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp technique was used to assess insulin sensitivity and insulin clearance. READ MORE

    Abstract : In the present studies we have explored the link between food hypersensitivity and IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and evaluated treatment options in primary and recurrent disease. Approximately one third of our IgAN patients had a rectal mucosal sensitivity to gluten, as demonstrated by increased local mucosal nitric oxide production and/or myeloperoxidase release after gluten challenge.
