  1. 1. Computational Aspects of Maass Waveforms

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Matematiska institutionen

    Author : Fredrik Strömberg; Uppsala universitet.; [2005]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematical analysis; Maass waveform; Congruence subgroup; Noncongruence subgroup; Multiplier system; Theta multiplier system; Eta multiplier system; real weight; Hecke operator; Involution; Dirichlet character; Spectral Theory; Computation; Matematisk analys; MATHEMATICS Algebra; geometry and mathematical analysis Mathematical analysis; MATEMATIK Algebra; geometri och analys Analys; matematik; Mathematics;

    Abstract : The topic of this thesis is computation of Mass waveforms, and we consider a number of different cases: Congruence subgroups of the modular group and Dirichlet characters (chapter 1); congruence subgroups and general multiplier systems and real weight (chapter 2); and noncongruence subgroups (chapter 3). In each case we first discuss the necessary theoretical background. READ MORE

    Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to increase the understanding of the immunopathology of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). The first aim was to elucidate how the thymus and the gut epithelium were affected by colitis. The second aim was to investigate new ways of assessing and monitoring colitis. READ MORE

  5. 5. On Young tableau involutions and patterns in permutations

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköpings universitet

    Author : Erik Ouchterlony; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2005]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis is dealing with the combinatorics of permutations in three different aspects. In the first two papers, two flavours of pattern avoiding permutations are examined and in the third paper Young tableaux, which are tightly related to permutations via representation theory, are studied.
