  1. 1. Carbonate Ions and Gastric Cancer

    Author : Roy Ehrnström; Malmö Patologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine human and vertebrates ; ODC; COX-2; inflammation; Wistar rats; duodenogastric reflux; Medicin människa och djur ; proliferation; gastrojejunostomy; carbonate ions; Experimental gastric cancer;

    Abstract : Nearly one million new cases of gastric cancer are diagnosed annually throughout the world. Even though the incidence has fallen dramatically in recent decades, this disease is still the second leading cause of cancer death in a global perspective. READ MORE

  2. 2. Excited States in Negative Ions

    Author : Johan Rohlén; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Keywords : Negative Ions; Photodetachment; Atomic Physics; Experimental Physics;

    Abstract : This thesis covers experimental studies of atomic negative ions with the main goal of increasing our fundamental understanding of these fragile quantum systems. Comparisons of measurements and calculations have been used to increase our understanding of these highly correlated, yet simple, systems. READ MORE

  3. 3. Experimental studies of cluster ions containing water, ammonia, pyridine and bisulphate

    Author : Mauritz Johan Ryding; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Keywords : clusters; ions; water; ammonia; pyridine; bisulphate; cross sections; collision induced dissociation CID ; kinetic modelling; electrospray ionization ESI ; time-of-flight TOF ; mass spectrometry;

    Abstract : Molecular cluster ions are fascinating subjects of study. Bridging the size gap between molecules and bulk, they often display non-trivial size dependent behaviour and properties. READ MORE

  4. 4. Nanopatterning by Swift Heavy Ions

    Author : Marek Skupinski; Klas Hjört; Jens Jensen; Christina Trautmann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Materials science; swift heavy ions; lithography; nanopatterning; self-assembly; Materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : Today, the dominating way of patterning nanosystems is by irradiation-based lithography (e-beam, DUV, EUV, and ions). Compared to the other irradiations, ion tracks created by swift heavy ions in matter give the highest contrast, and its inelastic scattering facilitate minute widening and high aspect ratios (up to several thousands). 5. 5. Ions interacting with macromolecules : NMR studies in solution

    Author : Yuan Fang; Istvan Furo; Monika Schönhoff; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electrophoretic NMR; diffusion NMR; specific ion effects; Hofmeister; ion binding; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Specific ion effects, identified for more than hundred years, play an important role in a wide range of phenomena and applications. Several mechanisms such as direct ion interaction with molecules have been suggested to explain these effects, but quantitative experimental evidence remains scarce. READ MORE
