16. Laser Photodetachment of Negative Ions - Fundamental Research and Applications
Abstract : Photodetachment studies of atomic and molecular negative ions in the gas phase are presented. Negative ions are loosely bound quantum systems whose existence is strongly dependent on the correlations between the electrons. READ MORE

17. Structure of solvated matal ions
Abstract : The structure of the solvated group 3 ions scandium(III),yttrium(III) and lanthanum(III), has been determined in aqueoussolution and in some oxygen donor solvents, and compared withthe hydrated group 13 ions gallium(III) and indium(III). Acombination of X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS), largeangle X-ray scattering (LAXS), crystallography and vibrationspectroscopy has been used for the structure studies of thehydrated ions and their dimethylsulfoxide andN,N´-dimethylpropylene urea solvates in solution and inthe solid state. 18. Removal of Metal Ions from Wood Chips during Acidic Leaching
Abstract : Wood chips are the main source of intake of non-process elements at kraft pulp mills. It would be advantageous to decrease the content of these elements in the chips prior to pulping. READ MORE

19. Diagnosing Fuel Ions in Fusion Plasmas using Neutron Emission Spectroscopy
Abstract : Neutron emission spectra, measured with the time of flight spectrometer TOFOR, at the joint European torus (JET) are presented in this thesis. TOFOR has been in use since 2005, routinely measuring the neutron emission from JET plasmas. READ MORE

20. Escape to space or return to venus : ion flows measured by venus express
Abstract : The present-day Venusian atmosphere is crushingly dense, extremely hot and arid. Yet, in its early history, Venus presumably had a massive amount of water, which, if spread evenly over the surface, provided a water depth of 10s to 100s of meters. Therefore, over the course of the atmospheric evolution, the water must have been removed from Venus. READ MORE
