6. On Radio Frequency Behavioral Modeling : Measurement Techniques, Devices and Validation Aspects
READ MORE

7. Dialogue and revolution : fostering legitimate stakeholder agency in natural resource governance
Abstract : This thesis explores how people exert their agency in policy processes that pertain to natural resource governance, and how they construct the required sense of legitimacy for such actions. It also examines the manner in which facilitated multi-stakeholder processes foster legitimate stakeholder agency, and reflects on how they may ensure the rigour of research interventions in situations characterised by intractable uncertainty and controversy. 8. Analysis of laminar and turbulent flows with turbomachinery, biotechnology and biomechanical applications
Abstract : The goal of this study was initially to gain a better understanding of the effects of rotation on turbulent flow in ducts. Knowledge concerning the influence of rotation on the structures of turbulence is of fundamental importance in many applications, e.g. READ MORE

9. Prediction of forced convection heat transfer to Lead-Bismuth-Eutectic
Abstract : The goal of this work is to investigate the capabilities of two different commercial codes, OpenFOAM and ANSYS CFX, to predict forced convection heat transfer in low Prandtl number fluids and investigate the sensitivity of these predictions to the type of code and to several input parameters. The goal of the work is accomplished by predicting forced convection heat transfer in two different experimental setups with the codes OpenFOAM and ANSYS CFX using three different turbulence models and varying the input parameters in an extensive sensitivity analysis. 10. Flame Dynamics and Deflagration-to-Detonation Transition
Abstract : Various premixed flame phenomena are studied by means of direct numerical simulations of the complete system of hydrodynamic equations. Rigorous study of flame dynamics is essential for all premixed combustion problems where multidimensional effects cannot be disregarded. The present thesis consists of six parts. READ MORE
