16. Echocardiographic measurements of the heart : with focus on the right ventricle
Abstract : Echocardiography is a well established technique when evaluating the size and function of the heart. One of the most common ways to measure the size of the right ventricle (RV) is to measure the RV outflow tract 1(RVOT1). Several ways to measure RVOT1 are described in the literature. READ MORE

17. Insights into the relationship between coronary calcification and atherosclerosis risk factors
Abstract : Introduction Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the most common cause of death in Europe and North America and early detection of atherosclerosis is a clinical priority. Diagnosis of CAD remains conventional angiography, although recent technology has introduced non-invasive imaging of coronary arteries using computed tomographic coronary angiography (CTCA), which enables the detection and quantification of coronary artery calcification (CAC). 18. Infarct size and myocardial function : A methodological study
Abstract : The size of a myocardial infarction (MI) and the concurrent effect on left ventricular (LV) function are essential for decisions regarding patient care and treatment. Images produced with the late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) technique visualize the scar with high spatial resolution. READ MORE

19. Computed Tomography of the Coronary Arteries : Developmental and Prognostic Investigations
Abstract : Computed tomography (CT) is an increasingly used modality for investigations of patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). Technical advances could improve diagnostic accuracy and lead to clinical workflow improvements. Also, more prognostic information can optimize clinical follow-up strategies and treatments. READ MORE

20. Strategies to improve outcome in patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction treated with primary PCI
Abstract : Background: ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) caused by a ruptured atherosclerotic plaque with overlying thrombosis leads to ischemia and progressively to the death of the myocardial cells supplied by the affected coronary artery. Rapid reperfusion with primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) in an experienced centre is the preferred therapy for these patients. READ MORE
