  1. 1. Characterization of [18F]flutemetamol binding properties : A β-amyloid PET imaging ligand

    Author : Kerstin Heurling; Mark Lubberink; Jens Sörensen; Julie Price; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Positron emission tomography PET ; molecular imaging; amyloid; tracer validation; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Abstract : The criteria for diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease (AD) have recently been revised to include the use of biomarkers for the in vivo presence of β-amyloid, one of the neuropathological hallmarks of AD. Examples of such biomarkers are positron emission tomography (PET) β-amyloid specific ligands, including [18F]flutemetamol. READ MORE

  2. 2. PET in Heart Failure - Methods and Applications

    Author : Jens Sörensen; Göran Hedenstierna; Elisabeth Ståhle; Bengt Långström; Juhani Knuuti; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; congestive heart failure; myocardial ischemia; positron emission tomography; left ventricular dysfunction; tracer kinetic models; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin;

    Abstract : Positron Emission Tomography (PET) permits regional myocardial perfusion, fibrosis and oxidative metabolism to be non-invasively quantified with radioactive tracers such as [15O]-water and [1-11C]-acetate. PET is an established research tool in congestive heart failure (CHF), a major cause of morbidity and mortality. READ MORE

  3. 3. A Generator Perspective on Vertical Axis Wind Turbines

    Author : Fredrik Bülow; Hans Bernhoff; Jens Sørensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VAWT; PM generator; Wind power; Stator core loss;

    Abstract : The wind energy conversion system considered in this thesis is based on a vertical axis wind turbine with a cable wound direct drive PM generator. Diode rectifiers are used to connect several such units to a single DC-bus and a single inverter controls the power flow from the DC-bus to a utility grid. READ MORE

  4. 4. [18F]Flutemetamol PET image processing, visualization and quantification targeting clinical routine

    Author : Johan Lilja; Sörensen Jens; Mark Lubberink; Elna-Marie Larsson; Lars Olson; Claus Svarer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; quantification; flutemetamol; amyloid imaging; Alzheimer’s disease; positron emission tomography; brain mapping; stereotactic surface projections; image registration; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Abstract : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the leading cause of dementia and is alone responsible for 60-70% of all cases of dementia. Though sharing clinical symptoms with other types of dementia, the hallmarks of AD are the abundance of extracellular depositions of β-amyloid (Aβ) plaques, intracellular neurofibrillary tangles of hyper phosphorylated tau proteins and synaptic depletion. 5. 5. Uncemented Total Hip Arthroplasty : Aspects on Bone Biology, Implant Fixation, Periprosthetic Bone Remodeling, Bone Mineral Density and Effects of Denosumab

    Author : Andreas Nyström; Hans Mallmin; Nils Hailer; Gösta Ullmark; Jens Sörensen; Arkan Sayed-Noor; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; THA; F-PET; Denosumab; CTMA;

    Abstract : Uncemented total hip arthroplasty (THA) is associated with loss of periprosthetic bone mineral density (BMD). The collum femoris preserving (CFP) stem lost 28% of proximal BMD at 2 years. READ MORE
