1. Jet-Ejecta Interactions in Neutron Star Mergers : How jets interacting with the surroundings affect multi-wavelength observations
Abstract : In August 2017 a gravitational wave signal from a binary neutron star merger was detected for the first time, and it was followed by several electromagnetic detections that spanned the whole electromagnetic spectrum. Those observations proved the ejection of two dynamical components: mildly-relativistic neutron rich ejecta and an ultra-relativistic jet. READ MORE

2. Experimental and Numerical Investigations of Confluent Round Jets
Abstract : Unconfined multiple interacting confluent round jets are interesting from a purely scientific point of view, as interaction between neighboring jets brings additional complexity to the flow field. Unconfined confluent round jets also exist in various engineering applications, such as ventilation supply devices, sewage disposal systems, combustion burners, chemical mixing or chimney stacks. 3. Mini-Jet Production in Proton-Antiproton Interactions and Particle Production in Heavy-Ion Collisions
Abstract : The thesis is based on the data analysis and detector development of the EMU01/CERN, E863/BNL and UA1/CERN experiments. Particle fluctuations are studied with the scaled factorial moments in the fragmentation region of oxygen-induced emulsion interactions from 3.7 to 200 A GeV. READ MORE

4. On Fuel Coolant Interactions and Debris Coolability in Light Water Reactors
Abstract : During the case of a hypothetical severe accident in a light water reactor, core damage may occur and molten fuel may interact with water resulting in explosive interactions. A Fuel-Coolant Interactions (FCI) consists of many complex phenomena whose characteristics determine the energetics of the interactions. READ MORE

5. Numerical studies of turbulent flames in wall-jet flows
Abstract : The present thesis deals with the fundamental aspects of turbulent mixing and non-premixed combustion in the wall-jet flow, which has a close resemblance to many industrial applications. Direct numerical simulations (DNS) of turbulent wall-jets with isothermal and exothermic reactions are performed. READ MORE
