  1. 1. Using genomics to improve Bacillus anthracis diagnostics and outbreak investigations

    Author : Joakim Ågren; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The bacterium Bacillus anthracis causes the disease anthrax, primarily in herbivores but many mammals are susceptible to the disease. Its infective form is as a dormant spore that can lie in the soil for decades. READ MORE

  2. 2. ICME guided study of mass transport in production and application of cemented carbides

    Author : Armin Salmasi; Henrik Larsson; Lars Höglund; Andreas Blomqvist; Joakim Odqvist; John Ågren; José Garcia; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cemented carbides; non-homogeneous structures; liquid phase migration; ICME; CALPHAD; materials design; viscosity; diffusion; mass transport; thermodynamics; kinetics; ab-initio; Materials Science and Engineering; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : Cemented carbides are metallic composites consisting of a WC hard phase and a ductile binder, usually Co-based, produced by powder metallurgy and sintering. Cemented carbides are an essential part of modern material and manufacturing processes. READ MORE

  3. 3. Phase Separation in Stainless Steels Studied by Small-angle Neutron Scattering

    Author : Xin Xu; Peter Hedström; Joakim Odqvist; John Ågren; Cristelle Pareige; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fe-Cr alloys; stainless steels; spinodal decomposition; phase separation; small-angle neutron scattering; mechanical properties; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Abstract : Fe-Cr based steels, i.e. stainless steels, possessing a combination of excellent corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties, have indispensable applications ranging from low-end cooking utensils, to sophisticated components for nuclear power plants. READ MORE

  4. 4. Experimental study of phase separation in Fe-Cr based alloys

    Author : Jing Zhou; John Ågren; Joakim Odqvist; Peter Hedström; Andersson Marcus; KTH; []
    Keywords : Duplex stainless steels; Ferritic stainless steels; Spinodal decomposition; Phase separation; Atom probe tomography; Clustering; Radial distribution function RDF ;

    Abstract : Duplex stainless steels (DSSs) are important engineering materials due to their combination of good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. However, as a consequence of their ferrite content, DSSs are sensitive to the so-called ‘475°C embrittlement’, which is induced by phase separation, namely, the ferrite decomposed into Fe-rich ferrite (α) and Cr-rich ferrite (α'), respectively.
