  1. 1. On Concurrent Error Detection and Error Propagation

    Author : Joakim Ohlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; error models; control flow monitoring; simulation experiments; concurrent error detection; permanent faults; watchdog processors; fault injection; transient faults;

    Abstract : This thesis addresses three important steps in the selection of error detection mechanisms for microprocessors: (i) the design and evaluation of error detection mechanisms, (ii) the study of microprocessor error behavior and propagation and (iii) the design and use of error models. The first part of the thesis evaluates four error detection methods with respect to para- meters such as error detection coverage and performance loss, while the second and third parts focus on determining the error patterns most likely to occur in a computer system when different types of faults are present and how to incorporate those error patterns into error models. 2. 2. Double Poling Incross-Country Skiing : Biomechanical and Physiological Analysis of Sitting and Standing Positions

    Author : Marie Lund Ohlsson; Marko Laaksonen; Jonas Danvind; L. Joakim Holmberg; Anders Eriksson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; blood lactate concentration; cross-country sit-skiing; impairment; internal kinetics; inverse dynamics simulations; joint reaction forces; kinematics; metabolic rate; musculoskeletal modelling; musculoskeletal efficiency; nordic skiing; oxygen uptake; para-skiing; respiration; skiing efficiency.;

    Abstract : Double poling (DP) is a sub-technique in cross-country skiing that has increased in interest over the last decades, e.g. athletes in cross-country skiing have increased their utilisation of double poling during competitions. READ MORE

  3. 3. Studies of dark matter in and around stars

    Author : Sofia Sivertsson; Tommy Ohlsson; Joakim Edsjö; Gianfranco Bertone; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dark matter; particle astrophysics;

    Abstract : There is by now compelling evidence that most of the matter in the Universe is in the form of dark matter, a form of matter quite different from the matter we experience in every day life. The gravitational effects of this dark matter have been observed in many different ways but its true nature is still unknown. READ MORE
