  1. 1. Developing a framework for describing and analyzing misalignments in the supply chain - Illustrated with the Swedish Cash Supply Chain

    Author : Johan Lundin; Teknisk logistik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Incentive alignment; Risk and reward sharing; Agency theory; Cash supply chain; Supply chain management;

    Abstract : Background: Narayanan & Raman (2004) present what they call an approach to treat incentive misalignments. It consists of three steps: Accept the premise, Pinpoint the cause, and Align or redesign. The first step, accept the premise, is simply acknowledging that there is such a thing as incentive misalignments. READ MORE

  2. 2. Model Uncertainty in Fire Safety Engineering

    Author : Johan Lundin; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Summary: Traditionally, fire safety has often been addressed with methods based on prescriptive recommendations. The opportunity to use an alternative analytical approach has led to the development of fire safety engineering, beginning with structural fire safety design in the 1960's and today including fire safety design and fire risk analysis in general. 3. 3. On Supply Chain Incentive Alignment: Insights from a cash supply chain and a trucking service supply chain

    Author : Johan Lundin; Teknisk logistik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Supply chain management; Incentive alignment; Cash supply chain; Trucking service supply chain; Mixed methods research;

    Abstract : This dissertation presents a framework for describing, a process for identifying, and a model for evaluating misalignments in the supply chain when varying elements such as structure, processes, and management components. The developed approach makes it possible to address and improve the alignment of supply chain structures, processes, and management components. READ MORE

  4. 4. Safety in Case of Fire - The Effect of Changing Regulations

    Author : Johan Lundin; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Technological sciences; verification; risk analysis; uncertainty; prescriptive; risk control; building regulation; Performance-based; fire safety engineering; Teknik; Building construction; Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : In this doctoral thesis some fundamental problems concerning society's ability to control the safety in buildings in the case of fire by issuing performance-based building regulations are identified and analysed. Fire protection documentation from forty-six projects was studied, together with a detailed analysis of the Swedish building regulations and an extensive risk analysis of a class of buildings. 5. 5. Flywheel in an all-electric propulsion system

    Author : Johan Lundin; Hans Bernhoff; P-O Västeräng; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flywheel; electric vehicle; hybrid vehicle; power management; energy storage;

    Abstract : Energy storage is a crucial condition for both transportation purposes and for the use of electricity. Flywheels can be used as actual energy storage but also as power handling device. Their high power capacity compared to other means of storing electric energy makes them very convenient for smoothing power transients. READ MORE
