  2. 2. The importance of biodiversity for ecosystem processes in sediments : experimental examples from the Baltic Sea

    Author : Johan Näslund; Jonas Gunnarsson; Sara Sjöling; Nils Kautsky; Antoine Grémare; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biodiversity; Soft-bottom sediment; Ecosystem processes; Ecosystem function; Benthic-pelagic coupling; Baltic Sea; Trophic interactions; Pollutant biodegradation; Organic matter mineralization; Deposit feeder; Detritivore; Invasive species; Marine ecology; Marin ekologi; marin ekotoxikologi; Marine Ecotoxicology;

    Abstract : Aquatic sediments are, by surface, the largest habitat on Earth. A wide diversity of organisms inhabit these sediments and by their actions they have a large influence on and also mediate many ecosystem processes. READ MORE

  3. 3. ST-elevation myocardial infarction : studies of outcome in relation to fibrinolysis and ischemia monitoring with on-line vectorcardiography

    Author : Johan Nilsson; Ulf Näslund; Kurt Boman; Kristian Thygesen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : Medicine; Myocardial infarction; vectorcardiography; fibrinolysis; reperfusion; Medicin; kardiologi; Cardiology;

    Abstract : The treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) has undergone a tremendous development during the last decades, and the most important factor is probably the introduction of reperfusion therapy aimed at preventing or limiting the myocardial injury. It is of vital importance that patients with AMI are adequately monitored regarding the development of ECG changes during and after treatment to identify successful or failed reperfusion and to detect episodes of recurrent ischemia. 4. 4. Palaeosurfaces and palaeovalleys on North Atlantic previously glaciated passive margins : reference forms for conclusions on uplift and erosion

    Author : Johan M. Bonow; Karna Lidmar-Bergström; Clas Hättestrand; Jens-Ove Näslund; Mats Olvmo; Adrian Hall; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; palaeosurface; palaeovalley; uplift; valley; incision; glacial erosion; weathering; Neogene; southern Norway; West Greenland; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Abstract : Palaeosurfaces and palaeovalleys are landforms under destruction in the present climate and/or tectonic regime, and thus mainly reflect processes not active today. Uplifted palaeosurfaces exist along the formerly glaciated passive continental margins around the North Atlantic. READ MORE
