21. ST-elevation myocardial infarction : studies of outcome in relation to fibrinolysis and ischemia monitoring with on-line vectorcardiography
Abstract : The treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) has undergone a tremendous development during the last decades, and the most important factor is probably the introduction of reperfusion therapy aimed at preventing or limiting the myocardial injury. It is of vital importance that patients with AMI are adequately monitored regarding the development of ECG changes during and after treatment to identify successful or failed reperfusion and to detect episodes of recurrent ischemia. 22. Studies on Oxidative Couplings in H-Phosphonate Chemistry
Abstract : In this thesis oxidative coupling of H-phosphonate and H phosphonothioate diesters with different alcohols and amines are presented. Since the reactions with alcohols previously have been particularly unfavourable due to competing side reactions, a modified protocol leading to high coupling yields of structurally diverse hydroxylic components was developed. 23. Spatial organization of retail activities
Abstract : This thesis is a compilation of four independent papers that examine the spatial process of retail location. The central question I ask is how changes in access to consumer demand affects retail in terms of size and survival. READ MORE

24. ADHD and stress : Diurnal cortisol levels, early psychosocial adversity and perceived stress
Abstract : The Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal axis (HPA-axis) with its end product cortisol mediates the physiological response to stress thereby promoting mobilization of energy. The cortisol levels follow a diurnal rhythm with a distinct awakening response. READ MORE

25. Fibre-Optic Displacement and Temperature Sensing Using Coupling Based Intensity Modulation and Polarisation Modulation Techniques
Abstract : Optical fibre sensors are employed in the measurements of a number of different physical properties or for event detection in safety and security systems. In those environments which suffer from electromagnetic disturbance, in harsh environments where electronics cannot survive and in applications in favour of distributed detection, fibre-optic sensors have found natural areas of use.
