2. Computational Verification Methods for Automotive Safety Systems
Abstract : This thesis considers computational methods for analysis and verification of the class of automotive safety systems which support the driver by monitoring the vehicle and its surroundings, identifying hazardous situations and actively intervening to prevent or mitigate consequences of accidents. Verification of these systems poses a major challenge, since system decisions are based on remote sensing of the surrounding environment and incorrect decisions are only rarely accepted by the driver. 3. Consumer decision making in a complex environment : Examining the decision making process of socially responsible mutual fund investors
Abstract : During the last few decades, "regular people" have become increasingly involved with investing in the stock market. One way of doing this, which has become more and more popular, is to invest in mutual funds. The mutual fund industry has, due to its explosive growth, been described as a success story of the 20th century. READ MORE

4. Design, Synthesis and Characterization of Small Molecule Inhibitors and Small Molecule : Peptide Conjugates as Protein Actors
Abstract : This thesis describes different aspects of protein interactions. Initially the function of peptides and their conjugates with small molecule inhibitors on the surface of Human Carbonic Anhydrase isoenzyme II (HCAII) is evaluated. READ MORE

5. Initial-Boundary-Value Problems for the Stokes and Navier–Stokes Equations on Staggered Grids
Abstract : In the first part of the thesis various types of boundary conditions for the steady state Stokes equations are considered. We formulate the boundary conditions in a new way, such that the boundary value problem becomes non-singular, and derive estimates of the solution. READ MORE
