  1. 1. Studies on the clinical pharmacology of antiretroviral agents

    Author : Filip Josephson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis begins with an account of the development of the antiretroviral treatment paradigm for HIV infection, focusing on the emergence of present day principles of antiretroviral therapy (e.g. READ MORE

  2. 2. Growth and Business Cycles -Swedish Manufacturing Industry 1952-2001

    Author : Camilla Josephson; Lennart Schön; Deirdre Nansen MC Closkey; Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Ekonomisk och social historia; Social and economic history; Nutidshistoria från 1914 ; Contemporary history since 1914 ; Manufacturing industry; Institutional change; Knowledge accumulation; Opportunity costs; The cointegrated VAR model; Business cycles; Economic growth; TFP growth; Cyclical economics; Konjunkturteori; cykliska förlopp; Contemporary history;

    Abstract : This study shows that the mechanisms behind knowledge accumulation and the sources of productivity growth differ from industry to industry depending on what is produced and what technology is used. Although it is apparent to most researchers in the field that the only way to explain long-run growth in output per capita is through technological progress and accumulation of knowledge that counteract the dampening effect of diminishing returns, we are still in the dark about how such mechanisms operate. 3. 3. Orsaker till fel i byggandet: en studie om felorsaker, felkonsekvenser, samt hinder för inlärning i byggprojekt

    Author : Per-Erik Josephson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; consequences of defects; causes of defects; organisational behaviour; organisational learning; building project; quality; temporary organisations; defects; costs of defects;

    Abstract : One means of increasing the effectiveness of building is minimisation of the numbers of de-fects and their consequences. In order to accomplish this, it is necessary to have knowledge of why defects occur, of their consequences, and of how to learn from errors. READ MORE

  4. 4. Symmetry, Disorder and the Josephson Effect in d-Wave Superconductors

    Author : Fabian Wenger; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; density of states; Josephson effect; high-Tc; symmetry; cuprate; disorder; d-wave; superconductor; order parameter;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on aspects of symmetry, disorder and the Josephson effect in d-wave superconductors which are generically characterized by sign changes of the gap function .DELTA.k in certain directions with respect to the underlying crystal lattice. READ MORE

  5. 5. Interactions and Interference in Mesoscopic Systems: Josephson Current through Quantum Dots and Josephson Junction Arrays

    Author : Klas Engström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; density functional theory; quantum dots; Josephson effect; Andreev reflection; mesoscopic superconductivity; Josephson junction array; coulomb interactions; Bogoliubov-de Gennes equation; quantum phase transition;

    Abstract : The focus of the thesis is on the interplay between interactions and interference effects in mesoscopic systems. More specifically, the two main projects included deal with Coulomb interactions and Josephson effect in two superconductor-normal metal systems: (i) a Josephson junction array and (ii) a superconductor-normal metal-superconductor (SNS) system in which the normal part is a quantum dot.
