  1. 16. Fragment Mass Distributions in Neutron-Induced Fission of 232Th and 238U from 10 to 60 MeV

    Author : Vasily Simutkin; Stephan Pomp; Franz-Josef Hambsch; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ADS; neutron-induced fission; intermediate neutron energies; fragment mass yield; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Fysik med inriktning mot tillämpad kärnfysik; Physics with specialization in Applied Nuclear Physics;

    Abstract : Since its discovery, the phenomenon of nuclear fission is the object of extensive theoretical and experimental studies. However, we are still far from a complete understanding of the fission process. READ MORE

  2. 17. Response of the PANDA electromagnetic calorimeter to photons with energies below 100 MeV

    Author : Klas Marcks von Würtemberg; Per-Erik Tegnér; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PANDA elecromagnetic calorimeter response PWO; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Nuclear Physics; kärnfysik;

    Abstract : Characteristics of the electromagnetic calorimeter of PANDA (anti-Proton ANnihilations at DArmstadt), one of the key experiments at FAIR, have been measured at the tagged photon beam facility at MAX-lab for 61 energies in the range 12-63 MeV. The tested detector array consisted of 5x5 PbWO4 (lead tungstate) crystals designed for the forward end-cap. READ MORE

  3. 18. η Meson Production in Proton-Proton Collisions at Excess Energies of 40 and 72 MeV

    Author : Henrik Petrén; Tord Johansson; Pawel Moskal; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Elementary particle physics; Elementarpartikelfysik; Nuclear Physics; kärnfysik;

    Abstract : The production of η mesons in proton-proton collisions has been studied with the WASA detector using internal pellet targets in the CELSIUS storage ring at the The Svedberg Laboratory in Uppsala. Data were taken at two beam energies, 1360 MeV and 1445 MeV, corresponding to CM excess energies of 40 and 72 MeV, respectively. READ MORE

  4. 19. Experimental Studies of the Synthesis and the Survival Probability of Transactinides

    Author : Chariklia Rouki; Kjell Aleklett; Lars Westerberg; Matti Leino; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; transactinides; synthesis of superheavy elements; hot fusion; element 112; survival probability; Γn Γf; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Nuclear Physics; kärnfysik;

    Abstract : In 1999 scientists in Dubna announced the successful synthesis of the nucleus 283112 by the reaction 48Ca+ 238U, with a cross-section of 5.0 pb. The isotope was found to decay by spontaneous fission (t1/2=81 s). READ MORE

  5. 20. Meson production in pd collisions

    Author : Karin Schönning; Jozef Zlomanczuk; Bo Höistad; Susan Schadmand; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : Meson production in proton-deuteron collisions has been studied using the WASA detector facility at the CELSIUS storage ring in Uppsala. Data were obtained at two different beam energies, 1360 MeV and 1450 MeV, slightly above threshold for η and ω mesons. READ MORE
